2023 KR PowerBoost; 3400mi
Truck did not start this AM
Released parking brake, pressed Start- Full Accessory Power only. Could not shut down.
Waited ~20min and Acc Power went off
Retry Start- same Acc Power
Disconnected both battery terminals- few minutes screen turned off, then headlights and fog lights flashed (I ran an errand)
Reconnected battery- runs fine.
Basic battery check at O’Reilly- OK
Will take to dealer Friday for diagnostics.
System update over the weekend.

I anticipate no love with diagnostics

Multiple threads with no real fix?

Diagnosis?
Suggestions?

This does not instill confidence.

1st- dealer rec tow (55mi); purchased
2nd dealer (20mi)- discussed with electrical tech and called back; agreed with battery disconnect
Will take to 2nd- good reputation, responsive, will run diagnostics while I wait, states experience with Lightening and PowerBoost
Local dealer- terrible

I pulled the main battery for 10 min then it started.

I got several helpful tips from folks on this forum and haven’t had issues since. Since turning on Eco Idle and making it idle (charge) before getting out of the truck (tap the gas and the ICE will fire up for 30 seconds until charged), and locking the doors even in my garage and thankfully haven’t gotten the Deep Sleep messages or any other problems starting.

That said, you may need a new battery even if the dealer says your current one is fine

Not a good idea to disconnect the starter battery if you have a Powerboost. PBs have a small auxiliary battery under the rear passenger seat which continues to supply power when the starter battery is disconnected. All you’re doing is draining that small battery and you could damage it if you let it discharge completely. Then you have something else to fix.

I should add that nobody advised me to do that. It’s all I could think to do when my brand new truck with 200 ish miles on it left me stranded. And it worked.
Imagine being in a remote area and experiencing that ? thankfully I wasn’t but I carry tools now.

In 25 years of driving, this is the only time I’ve experienced a no start. Hondas, Subarus, Toyotas, and a crappy VW that always started.

Letting it sit 10 minutes might have worked whether you disconnected the starter battery or not. Plenty of time to let some of the systems power down on their own. The battery disconnect I suspect was a coincidence. The aux was still supplying power.

Is there a way to force reboot all the systems in dealer mode or something?

Simultaneously? There at least 30 modules at lower trim levels and more than 40 modules at higher trim levels in these things. I don’t know how you can reset them all at once. On the go, you can scan for trouble codes and reset individual modules that might be misbehaving with a scanner like the OBDLink MX+ and FORScan for mobile devices.
