I get the warning upon start everytime. I think it actually prevents the app from remote control lock or unlocking it too.

I had the dealer replace the battery, same issue is back a few months later. Any ideas out there? this is so frustrating!

I have written on this several times. I believe Ford either 1. got a bad batch of batteries or 2. let many trucks sit idle awaiting chips (sitting idle is not good for a battery). I had some funny indications on my battery over Thanksgiving travels. Stopped into a NAPA store along the way and just bought a drop in replacement battery. Then did a new installation charge with an AGM specific charger. Not a peep since. I infer that the replacement battery your dealer put in may have been a similar batch. Just go out and get an independently made battery. Give it a new installation charge which will take maybe 10-12 hours. Get an AGM charger if you don't already have one.

thanks for the ideas - i don't want to purchase something that should be covered by warranty.

But if you keep getting the same problems... At least try and get your dealer to give you a really new battery, not one from the shelf for awhile.

I have had the same problems with my '23 PB, Ryan, three times....two times wouldn't start, third time was a complete blackout. Ford dealer looked it over, tested the battery said it was fine. Working for now but I took the recommendation of one of the members and purchased a QUICKLYNKS Auto Battery Monitor BM2 Bluetooth 4.0 12V Device Car Battery Tester and installed it. I probably should have gotten a recommendation by "Snakebitten" but for $24, it seemed like a really reasonable amount to spend on a way to monitor that B-T's straight to your phone and gives you current and historical information on your battery. Cheers and good luck

Yes common problem. One hack is to turn the hvac fan to level 4 or higher. This will force 14.5 volts or so. Another thing you can do is use forscan and turn up the battery soc to 95%. I have a battery tender as well that the truck gets plugged into if it has to sit more than about a day or 2.

Not to speak for Snake (no one could do that?), that’s the same battery monitor he recommended to me. There’s a long thread here somewhere with more battery info than you can shake a stick at. If you want all the details of the battery system it’s in there.

I got the one snakebitten recommended and it’s nice to have a little more info on what the battery is doing. ?

Funny this is, you can tell what the battery is doing from system voltage. That's why I installed a regular old voltmeter. If system voltage is ~13.2VDC it's floating. If system voltage drops to ~10.5 to 11.0 VDC during start the battery is fine. If voltage is above 13.2VDC the battery is charging. If voltage starts dropping below 13.2VDC while the engine is running you have a really large load. if system voltge progressively ramps below 13.2 VDC the alternator isn't putting out or is maxed out. What you're seeing with these things is what the computer programming is commanding the system to do. I haven't been able to see into their logic.

I don't think Ford's logic is ever going to be obvious because it's so variable. I've been monitoring for so long and can't predict it even in what appears to me as consistent circumstances. I believe there are far more variables in play than we know.

Truth!
There is an incredible amount of idle speculation in these threads without an understanding of the underlying design or engineering, much less a clear understanding of the complex interactions among components and subsystem. Someone, maybe it was Snake? posted an item referring to the huge number of tables and look ups used in a relatively simple subsystem (I forget which one)!
Best example i can think of is the common advice to change the SOC setting using FÒRSCAN - but does anybody REALLY know what that does? Doubtful!
We don't even know if the system SOC values reported by OBmX are observed values (doubtful), calculated, or derived via table lookup from battery voltage.
All the above with all due respect to those who have put in a great deal of time actually reverse engineering these systems to figure them out, like Jersey Jim and a few others.
I am NOT saying that these trucks are without design flaws or defective batteries, but only that us consumers are not playing with a full hand.
