I nosed around, including the owner's manual but didn't find what I was looking for.

Someone else's question spurred one of my own. "What % of electric miles?"

On the instrument cluster, there is the main odometer and lifetime avg. mpg.

In the trip / fuel section, there is trip 1, trip 2 and this trip.

I must have mistakenly thought that Trip 1, was a redundant lifetime reading but it doesn't match the main odometer. I don't recall ever resetting that one but must have, as it is at 6K +, while the truck has 18K+.

I typically use trip 2, at each tank fill up.

I'll occasionally scan this trip but generally try to catch that when it cycles on the dash, at key shut down.

My lifetime avg. and electric only miles are really skewed, because about half the miles are heavy towing, using tow haul mode, which locks out electric only.

IF, I have a handle on how these features work, Trip 1 could be for a road trip, with trip 2 being tank to tank, inside of that trip and this trip, being self explanatory.

Do I have that right now and if not can someone show me, or walk me through a Trip Meter 101?

Looks like you have it right.

Your lifetime electric percentages are not skewed by towing because the calculation is lifetime electric miles/your odometer × 100. Once your lifteime trip (either 1 or 2 gets reset) you loose the liftime part and it becomes the precentage of electric over however many miles driven in the trip odometer.

I am unsure about the 23 and up model years but the 21 and 22 years the trip odometers roll over at 10k miles.

The mpg screen can also be reset. so beside the odometer none of the screens are actual cumulative lifetime averages because they can be reset.

Thanks. I'll nose around in there later today but this,

" Your lifetime electric percentages are not skewed by towing because the calculation is lifetime electric miles/your odometer × 100. "

Is not correct, or we misunderstand each other, in this context.

The question was asked about electric miles, as an expectation of finding a typical.

In these times, a truck who's life is half used as a heavy tow vehicle, rather the more typical, commuting, grocery, kids to soccer, daily errand runs, will have very different lifetime mpg and electric only results.

Ok, took a few pics. I still haven't found a true, lifetime electric only miles. but I'll post what I have.

Pic of the instrument cluster, showing a lifetime mpg of 12.1, in 18,519. miles.

In the context, of 8,157 towing miles (this is just the heavy towing of 7 - 7.5Klbs. there are other, lighter towing trips, not included here.) yielding 8.4mpg. This capture would also include ... 30ish (?) hours of PPOB use.

"Trip 1" which I mistakenly thought was lifetime, shows 6,168.2 miles (much of these would be heavy towing miles) at 11.2mpg and right at 11% of electric only miles.

"Trip 2" (The current tank full, no towing miles), shows a much more typical 21.2mpg in 165.8 miles, with 24.4%, being electric only. This shot includes more non typical highway driving (70mph) than normal (for me).

So, as I was saying earlier, towing miles, heavily skew both the lifetime mpg and electric only data.

From observation, for my use and this truck, summer time mpg, most often ranges in the 23-26mpg, sometimes topping 30. Winter time, is 17-19+, with 20F being an important temp threshold.

I see what your are saying but to me how many "lifetime" miles you drive in electric should include however you use your truck including towing, track use, dyno pulls, whatever. Its just a data point and of course the daily grocery getter is going to have more miles in electric than the all highway or towing truck.

As for finding a screen with lifetime electric miles there is none. You would have had to never reset one of the trips to get your lifetime electric miles. In my case trip 2 has never been reset by me (it was reset by the dealer when I purchased the truck at ~83 miles). So I guess you could say my electric percentage in that one thread is skewed by an unknown 83 miles out of 38k miles in my opnion I think thats insignificant.

Trip one shows 6k miles because it was reset ar around 2k miles. There is not enough digits to show 10k. I have 56k (~800hours) and it shows 6k.

Yeah, I know that now.

Moving forward, I'll use trip 1 for road trips of multiple tank fulls, or cumulative use between towing trips, trip 2, as I use it now, being that current tank full and this trip, being self explanatory.

I do still wish there was a way to know lifetime electric only but as both meters have been reset at least once over time, that info is lost.
