An 'easy' measuring method for configuring WD hitch is to take a small piece of blue painters tape and place it at an exact spot, say 44" on the dot above the wheel. This gives you a nice even measurement to start at.

Ford's guide for setting a WD hitch... TLDR: Measure w/ trailer off, place trailer on, measure again, adjust hitch so that you're at the midpoint of the 2 measurements.
