I have a working mirror (mirror "A") with a missing cap, damaged cover, and damaged housing. Please be aware I do not know the correct terminology for these parts. I have another mirror (mirror "B") with a damaged camera but it has an intact cover, cap, and housing. I have removed the damaged cover from mirror "A" and I am trying to remove the good parts from Mirror "B" without success. I am very concerned about causing damage to the good parts and not break any clips or other attachments. Does anyone have suggestions, insights, or advice about how to proceed. I have searched Youtube but have not found any relevant videos. Photos attached. Can post additional photos if anyone needs other views.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Ed

This is an excellent video and exactly what I needed. I am grateful you took the time to post it.
I bought several damaged mirrors and am now attempting to salvage components. Thanks to your video, I have successfully salvaged the needed parts from the donor but I am having trouble getting everything to go together. The donor mirror is an ADDSMAS and the recipient is an ADBSMAS. I do not know what the part numbers mean so I also don't know if the parts are actually compatible. Is it possible that I am having trouble assembling the recipient mirror because of an incompatibility? Are all the component parts interchangeable between the various model numbers? I have posted questions about how to identify mirror features from P/N but no one has offered any advice so far.
Regards,
Ed

I would have assumed most of the main parts are all the same.

I have the full power fold/extend tow mirrors and took a rock on the passenger side mirror and you cannot buy the front cover as a part, only the whole mirror, or all the other parts instead.
I bought a set of tow mirrors from an XLT take off, brand new for less than 500 bucks and I hope the part I need is the same too.
Just waiting for winter to go away so I can change it out.

Thanks to your video, I have successfully disassembled and reassembled a tow mirror. Fortunately, I have a Powerboost Platinum so the harness for the power extension was already there. All I had to do was enable the telescoping mirror with FORscan to make everything work.
Now that I have a bit more experience with the tow mirrors, I agree that most, if not all, parts are likely interchangeable. The last thing I have to do is modify the door switch panel to install the telescope switch. Since you have full power fold/extend tow mirrors, would you know the dimensions of the opening for the switch? (See attached pdf for Dd diagram). I have done a lot of searching and I am unable to find the door panel (ML3B-14A564-D).
I as well would like to see an early spring. Good luck with repairing your mirror.
Ed

Unfortunately, I need ML3B-14A564-D. I did find a ML3B-14A564-B which is an exact replacement for my original. I have a very crafty friend who is practicing on ABS sheets to find the best way to cut a hole to mount the switch. If that is successful, we will try the replacement panel.
What is your truck? This is the part I linked for 21+ 4 window controls

This photo is the correct part-where did you find it? When I follow the link to Lakelandford, I only see a drawing with one large opening, which is not correct. See attached pdf for Dd switch-plate.
Thank you for your message and I apologize for not replying earlier. Went to bed before 10 last night because we had an early morning appointment today.
I am also curious if anyone has one of these bezels and is willing to measure the length/width dimensions of the hole for the power extend switch plus the distance from the mirror position switch.

Ed
