Tire sizes weights and price table

Hi,

I'm new to trucks and truck tire sizing. I made this table of tire sizes, prices, and weights by looking up these tires on Tirerack, Discount Tire / America's Tire and approximating their size using https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Based on this data, it seems like the Toyos would be the lightest option of this group. The 285/60/20 size would appear to be a safe bet when upsizing tires without a lift, though I am tempted by the lighter weight (and thus mileage for 98% of my driving) of the 275/60/20s.

Much appreciated. I am looking at the Recon Grapplers in 275/65 R20 with the SL load range and 116T load/speed rating. Any chance you could add that tire as well?

What the chart overlooks is the load capacity of the tires which varies considerably. The Nitto Ridge Grappler in the LT275/60R20 has a load capacity of 3415 lbs or nearly 700 lbs more than the P version of the tire which can increase payload at the rear by more than 1300 lbs.

The heavier tire is going to result in a harsher ride and faster shock wear but if one truly needs the additional load capacity then it makes sense.

You’re right. I included the service codes. You can look those up for load capacity / max PSI.
