Tire size for reg cab lowered on 22s

I am getting some 22x9.5 wheels with a +30 offset for my reg cab truck. I'm currently looking at the toyo proxes st3 or the nitto 420v. I'm having trouble deciding on tire size. I've looked at 285/40, 285/45, 275/45, and 305/40. I want to get a tire that won't rub. The truck will also be lowered on a 3/5 kit. Any suggestions or pics?

285/40 will be too short of a sidewall, I made that mistake once.

I usually go 285/45 because it's an overall good balance. I think the 305 look a little better from behind cuz of the wider tire but the sidewall height is somewhere between the 285/40 and 285/45 series. I also have an Expedition and swap all my wheels between the two vehicles so I go with the 285/45 as it works with both trucks.

I'm also lowered 3/5. Right now I have my 24s on the truck but here's 285/45 on a Forgestar +30 22x10.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also looking at a set of 20x9 +30 offset. Both are the same wheel I'm just torn on wheel size. I know a 20 will ride better than a 22 that's why I keep going back to that size.

IMO if you're a lowered reg cab, 22s look perfect.
On my Super crew, the 24s look perfect.

I wouldn't worry much about ride quality between the two if you're lowered with a quality kit.

The look of 22s will far outweigh that ride quality difference in your happiness with the way your truck looks.

Roush’s “Nitemare” SCREW’s come with 22x9” wheels and 285/45/22 Continental’s which looks great and apparently does the job handling wise.

Correction: Roush wheels are 22x9.5”.

Offset is 32mm.

I went with 305/40. offset on my wheels are 44mm though. so might not be a good example.
