Howdy, first post here. i am about to pick up a 2021 f150 5.0 CC 4wd LWB with tow pkg, 3.73 gears. first steps i will be adding a leveling kit and going with 20x9 wheels. I am going back n forth on which tire size though... a 33" tire at 275/60/20 OR a 34" tire at 275/65/20
i tow a 6k lbs TT anywhere from 2x to 10x a year, very random on when we decide to go camp/hunt/etc.. im in TX, so not extremely full of inclines, but is hot a bulk of the year. some additional trips would be with simply a 12ft utility trailer hauling a small utv.

any and all input from those that have ran these tire sizes or similar setups would be greatly appreciated!

Why the 20" wheels?
was hesitant about going to 20s but had a great deal in 2019 on a truck with 20s with 33" tires, so i went with it. never had a ding on the wheels with my amount of off roading in 5.5yrs., and shorter/stiffer sidewall seemed to be better when towing (with D and E rated tires). i liked the image, so would like to duplicate it, even considering taking 1 step up in tire size to the 34"

The truck is going to tow better with the smaller tire size. With that being said, doubt going 1” larger will affect the abilities much.

Buying a truck for towing and leveling is your first plan?

Very weird. I would not waste the money

did it to all 3 trucks ive had over the previous 24 years without an issue. done by lots of folks without issue. its a daily driver as well as light towing. i want the appearance as well as the performance. if the truck is too level i can add a 1/2" to 1" block in the rear. sag too much when loaded, i can add air bags or a helper leaf.

Factory 265/60R20s on mine. I just made certain the load rating of the tires exceeded frame capacity.

The difference in circumference of less than 5% is not going to make a difference. As you already have 3.73 gears I would not worry about it.

With the F-150 the payloads are so low that even the passenger tires supplied by Ford are good enough.
