Tire Nut socket size?

I have never had a problem rounding nuts with the factory recommendation. I just replaced all 24 of my lug nuts for Gorillas. 21mm worked great for taking them off with my air impact gun. Your lug nuts will not round off with a 21MM socket. That is the factory recommendation and it works. It just that 13/16 can be a tad tighter. On occasion maybe too tight to get on a lug nut.

Please share where the factory recommends 21 mm for the F-150 lug nuts.

I prefer the fit of the 13/16. Never needed or used an impact tool on any wheels. A long ratchet is enough for me. Never had a "rounding off the nut" problem. When I change or rotate tires it's not a race.

I often carry wheels to the tire shop for mounting and balancing just to avoid having their team over blasting my studs and nuts with their impact tools. In the past I have found compromised threads when removing nuts at home... nuts are tight all the way up the stud. Few techs will be as carefull as I am.

Yes its not a pit stop but when its your turn to change a destroyed tire on the trail and 10 other rigs are waiting on you its stressful and a fast impact is so easy and faster. I hand thread then spin down then torque by hand with breaker drop and go. Re check at camp. Watched a lot of Baja 1000 pit stops LOL Done some ARCA, SCCA pits stops back in the day,

Now using a 13/16th socket on an M14 x 1.5 might void the warranty.
But that policy may have changed in 2008 when they sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata. ROFL

All kidding aside I learned some stuff on this thread and had to take a breather I was laughing so hard.
