Run....Completely away from the F150 Powerboost . We have a 2022 that is constantly in the shop. Ford does not have the infrastructure to support them, not just here in KY but everywhere. Search and you will see that there are a lot of complaints of people that have their trucks in the shop for 3weeks or more at a shot just to get looked at. The largest dealer near us, Bill Collins Ford which is quite large actually told us the reason they had it 3 weeks and it still had not been looked at was because the guy that worked on them was on vacation for 2 weeks.Found a great deal on a new truck and dealer is offering pretty good trade in. Looking to upgrade from 2021 XLT Sport 302A 2.7 EB 2WD to 2023 XLT Sport 302a 3.5 Powerboost FX4 with all options. My truck has 51k miles on it and I'm paying for an extended warranty currently. The new truck would be a couple hundred dollars more a month. Would it be worth it? Would the Powerboost be that much better than the 2.7
Perfect example : In December we took it in because we were getting an error on the screen about the break system and an auxiliary transmission fluid pump. We took it in telling them this and showing them pictures of the screen as well as the errors showing in the My Ford app. A few days in they tell us they didnt see any errors on the computer module. We show them again the error message. They research it and tell us they need to order a part but it was delayed and wouldn't be in until 1/10/24. We call on 1/10/24 to check and shedule to take it back (they had told us it was safe to drive and we couldnt be without a vehicle through the holiday. They tell us the case had been closed and part had been canceled but could give no reason. Being fed up with this we called Ford Customer Service, we requested a buy back and were denied. They have tried to get the part expedited for this current issue but its on back order now with no ETA.
Since the day we picked it up on 12/27 we have started receiving a myriad of other errors and issues that will need to be fixed so again reluctantly we have to give it up to them for an undetermined amount of time without a loaner:
1. Ground fault error - This is actually the 3rd time with this error , they replace a part and it goes away for awhile
2 Engine on due to cold error - constantly coming on. Basically it means the hybrid system doesn't kick in, when you shut the truck off it runs for about 5 minutes like a jet airplane
3. Pro Power Onboard not available, try again later - this happens even if its turned off, regardless of which driving mode.
4. 12v Batter state of Charge is low
5. The heat stopped working completely
6. Engine coolant over temperature
7. Power reduced to lower engine temperature.
This is Fords biggest piece of junk ever. They cant support it, we are left making a huge payment on a truck that we can barely use and feel safe using or its in the shop. Tried trading it in and even though its in excellent condition, because of the errors the trade in offers have been below what is owed on it - and we had a great 5 rate and put 15k down so we should not be upside down, just no one wants it.
