On this same topic. Does the FX4 skid plates help cover the catalytic converter? I am hoping they cover it a bit to make it a little more time consuming to steal. Anyone know?

thanks.

I don't believe so.

The tailgate lock does not interfere with power tailgate.
On my 2021 Powerboost, I added the tailgate lock when I had the sprayin bedliner done. (they convinced me to)

If I'm not mistaken, it's now a Ford option for the 2022?

You can also exchange the taillight screws with security screws. At least it will thwart the jackass that's just carrying the necessary screw driver. :)

Apparently locked the tailgates are accessed by unscrewing the panel on the inside of the tailgate to access the wire harness and lower the powered tailgates. Then they have free access to the tail lamps now not just the tailgate as a newer Texas problem.

there are a lot of screws to match to security screws for the tailgate panel to slow down the tail light thefts. I already put the security screws on the tail lamps however I prefer they couldn’t get my tailgate down by opening the panel on the inside of the truck on the tailgate….

If you know you’re parking your truck someplace “sketchy”… just unplug the Master Power Relay and take it with you.

Take anything of value out, leave the windows down enough for a thief to get their arm in and/or leave your doors unlocked.

Let them open the door without breaking your window. Let them see that there’s nothing in there to steal. And if they’re ambitious enough to want to steal your tailgate or lights… without the Master Power Relay they’ll never be able to get to them.

It's apparently super easy to open a locked tailgate on F150s and Super Duty trucks with a screwdriver. You can push the latches on either side, and there is a center hole for emergency unlock on some trims

My neighbor had his F250 lights stolen, locked tailgate, thief dropped it and removed the lights in about 30 seconds.

I found this, and installed it on my truck the day I got it. I also did 2 types of fasteners in the lights, so you would need 2 tools to remove it.

I am not affiliated with them, but the "company" is located in DFW.

Any reason you chose to install the plate behind the striker? Their website pic shows it over the striker. Just curious.

Where did you get those security screws? Do you have a part number by chance. Thanks!

I think it fits either way, it seemed to have a better fit this way, because the giant washer helps hold it in place.

To me, it seemed more angled when it went over the striker.

I did it both ways, and left it this way. It was 106 outside when I put them in, so I was melting and loosing patience

Thanks for sharing.
Ordered.
I'm not paranoid about such things, but I DO enjoy simple and elegant methods to throw a wrench into the nefarious intentions of a theif.
That device, along with the aftermarket cheap tailgate lock, and security screws on the taillights, might slow em down enough?

All in, it's peanuts compared to the cost of replacement.

Wouldn't a locked tailgate and hard tonneau cover prevent all of this?
