I had Granger install mine. I had ordered it when I placed the order with them and it's even on the window sticker but it was a dealer installed item. They even gave me the old red painted part they took out I guess so I would know they installed?

On my old truck I put one on myself and I don't know if it was old/returned/bad stock or what the deal was but it would lower slowly then the last inch or so it was like the dampener wasn't there. Never did look into if there was an adjustment on it. Next guys irritation now.

It was an option? My came with it. Another 2022 delete?

Mines a single cab so they limit what you can get. I was pissed at the time because I had to order the bed utility package to get the bed lights which used to be a stand alone option and now I never use the lights, too fat to trust the tailgate step (and uncoordinated) plus I have an undercover hard cover which makes it impossible to get in the back so the tie down things are useless too.

I remember the build and price back then was wrong. (go figure) it said that you would get a remote release tailgate on my build but it was not possible. and there was an add on for the viscous dampener so I went ahead and ordered it just in case and I'm glad I did. Now I wish I hadn't ordered the bed utility package because the tailgate is friggin heavy.

My truck was a very early 22. I took delivery on 2-08-22. I was actually hoping that I might luck out and get some 21 leftover parts like the temp control knobs with the led in them.

O I've got impacts I got a dewalt 20v impact driver and a kobalt 24v 1/2" impact.
I went to harbor freight bought the 3/8 and 1/2 torque wrench they were on sale for 11.99 each.

I got mine from fairway. I ordered the tailgate dampener , the rocker panel aero delete kit for both sides and the tailgate seal . All together tax shipped out the door was cheaper than just parts before tax and ship from accessories.ford or whatever it is. And the shipping was covered by points too.

Yeah I'd heard bad things about the ones by the cable. Not necessarily this one or even for our truck just in general. I used to have a frontier and wanted one for it but heard nothing but bad things. How's yours working out , by the looks of it the design is way better than the ones for the frontier.
