Tailgate randomly drops

Anyone having issues with the tailgate dropping when you start the truck? Has happened about 6 times in the last month or so and dealer can’t replicate it.

Also I go into vehicle settings and put the tailgate in manual mode when I start the truck. After I turn the truck off then go to restart it the tailgate is back in power mode. Not sure if that how it’s supposed to be or it’s related to the tailgate dropping randomly. Thanks

Interesting recall... i had the other day that the power tailgate totally failed....i went to open the tailgate and it dropped like a two ton bag of shit and hit my leg putting a big bruise on my leg and then would not power up either...

i was only 5 mins from the dealer that day and of course it would not do it again...

Already fixed the rear passenger window. Known problem for that so was an easy fix.

Apparently, this issue is pretty common. Many trucks have the campaign for the unintended tailgate opening on their VIN.
