Tailgate Applique is back for 2026 Platinum!

On the build and price tool on the Ford site, the tailgate applique is back on the '26 Platinums. Black for regular Platinum and Smoke Chrome for Platinum Plus. Also, 4x2 is an option again.

These drawings aren't showing a vehicle with the Pro-Access tailgate. I thought all Platinums had it.

It also looks like tow hooks are no longer shown on the XL 101 and 103 package front bumpers, but perhaps they're under there. The images are still pretty rough, as some even have what looks to be sharpie marker edits:

My understanding in the build tool is that the Platinum defaults to the standard tailgate, but the Pro Access tailgate is a zero cost option.

This is actually one of my only disappointments on the 2024... I love the applique on the Platinum way more than the raised lettering.

We have a 2024 King Ranch in Agate black, and was disappointed that the Pro Tailgate did not have the chrome applique. So to liven up the otherwise dull tailgate I put stainless steel lettering in the indented F-150 spot. For a $79,000 truck I feel like it should have had it.

My 2017 King Ranch does !!!

In the order guide it says if pro-access tailgate is chosen the rear applique is removed.... so no split rear applique for the pro-access tailgate. That is what order guide said but you never know because they have made changes that werent noted in order guide and/or changed on the fly!

To each his own. I’ve always felt that cookie sheet was cheesy and tacky for any trim level truck. It‘s sort of a double negative whammy for me….not a fan of chrome (or chrome look) and not a fan of “signage”.

It just doesn’t go with any color either.

I kinda like that u dont need a piece of plastic to show its a platinum just the front end will tell u everything im fine with the small platinum letters on my PAT...it be awesome if they would stamp platinum or king ranch into the metal instead of f150 but just wishfull thinking

The order guide shows the same for the King Ranch, yet the build & price shows a plain tailgate when the Pro Access Tailgate isn't selected.

I wonder if they just copy/pasted from the Platinum description and forgot to remove the part about the appliqué or if the build & price is wrong.

Put the Liquid chrome raised lettering in my pro access tailgate of my new 25 Platinum plus…I like the way it looks better than the appliqué, and I liked the appliqué.

That looks good. Where did you purchase the lettering? Good quality?

Tuff Skins. They have a license with Ford..so it’s good stuff. Seems to be very good quality. Those are the raised ones- 3-D(not flat) in the liquid chrome color.
