Sync is confused when calling while USB audio is playing.

I have encountered something peculiar (and by peculiar, I mean annoying!). Because Sirius is no longer an option, I keep a USB of music plugged in. When it's playing, I can press the Ford Assistant button on the steering wheel and say "Call xxxx on cell" and it will pause the music and switch to the phone. But a couple seconds later, the music switches back on and the call gets pushed back to the phone. Interestingly, the phone screen remains on the radio; usually the audio is on the side card.

I'm not even sure how to begin troubleshooting this. If audio is off phone works fine.... if I'm streaming it's through my phone, those calls work fine too. I haven'tt tried with the radio on yet....

Any ideas?

I just tested the same on my truck but used verbal commands to make the call.
It worked as it should except for a split second blurt from the USB music.

Thank you for checking. The issue used to be intermittent and has recently become repeatable. What's interesting is that the phone app remains on the Sync display and call time remains at 0:00. I'm hearing and speaking with the phone as normal, but if I hang up on the screen it will disconnect the call. It did seem to happen when moving from one track to the next but I've since ruled that out.
