@JJLikesIt Unless you're squatting down you really can't see the clamp. This is installed on my 4x2 so I don't have the ride height of the 4x4's.

Ford dealer called me today to give me the price on the exhaust tip

$280 CND!!!! What?!? Nope

This is a stupid issue. Ford just decided to stick it to us by changing the diameter so there would be no 3rd party accessories?!? Would they stoop that low?

Pulled my chrome tip and painted it today.

Anyone else who went this route, did it seem like the tip went back on a little too easy? It took me a good amount of force to get it off now with fairly low effort, I can slide it off or back on.

Just don’t want this thing falling off unexpectedly on me.

Lots of posts with people doing exactly as you did without issues reported. I don't think it takes much for the tip to stay on under normal use. Check it in six months it probably won't move.

I ended up buying the Ford tip after saying I wouldn't. Love the black chrome look.

Painted mine several months ago and have had no issue. Seems secure enough. Could be that just learn how to twist off after doing it the first time.
