Has anyone here swapped a 2024 XLT grille and headlights for a 2024 Lariat setup? I'm looking at an XLT with the chrome package (which I personally like). I just can't like get past the black grille. It looks great on he sport pacakges. Not so much on the trucks with chrome.

Won't be cheap, needs the lower trim piece swapped as well. Last I checked that part alone was ~600

It's not cheap. There's a guy selling everything as a "kit" and it runs about $5,200. There's no doubt in my mind you could cut that down by sourcing the parts yourself but that at least gives you an idea.

How many pieces is it?
2 headlights and a grille. There's the lower trim piece Hammaman mentioned. What else would be needed?

If you figure this one out let me know. I dont hate the grill , but it's too easy of a job to not customize I have the 24 XLT powerboost with the blackout PKG and I'm iching for the aftermarket grill people to give a 2018-2020 cross bar look .id pay 800-1400 , not 5k

I just purchased a 24 XLT and was disappointed there wasn't more chrome on the grill. I'm not a fan of the "black out" stuff. Did anyone figure out part numbers on what's involved in converting to a Chrome grill. Doesn't seem to be any aftermarket stuff that I've found.
I'm currently in the process of converting to folding mirrors then I'll be looking for grill information.

What would it take/cost to have the xlt grille chromed?

I will not buy an xlt because I strongly dislike the glossy black plastic look of the grille.

Quite a bit, it's a fairly specialized process to chrome plastic. Plus it'd look even worse or ford would have entertained it. Instead you get a version of the coon face

HammaMan, I don't think you are correct. Sheerly a Hypothesis But I think it's a cost cutting issue at Ford. Lariat, Kings Ranch and Platinum in F150s and several of the Superdutys have plastic chrome grills. My 2016 has a plastic chrome grill.
I'd be kool with PVD on the grill. I am just disappointed with the coon face on my Chrome packaged XLT.

1slo5oh do you have the guys name or a link?

Haven't installed everything because it's cold outside.
*damn cold
This is the longest cold streak I can remember here in the SE. We've gone weeks below freezing. Now we're back into the 60s this week.

Still trying to find out about chroming my grill. Contacted a chrome shop they said chroming plastic is a specialty and most metal plating shops don't do it.
Ran across this on another forum.

"Plastic "chrome" plating is not actually chrome. It's a heated vacuum adhesive-backed mylar deposition that requires some very specialized equipment that looks like vacuum-forming equipment (it's known as "vacuum chrome metalizing"). Most real chrome shops don't do the vacuum deposited mylar sheet process, since it has nothing to do with "real" chrome plating. Likewise, places that do the vacuum chrome metalizing process don't do "real" chrome on steel parts."

Well no, they have a way to make the plastic conductive and do in-fact follow traditional plating techniques starting with a copper plating. This is why it's highly specialized. Most of what makes it specialized is to have all of the plating tanks to do it. The first step is to get a conductive layer applied so it will take copper. Copper plating is the first step to electroplating just about every other metal from nickel to gold to chrome.
