I have a 2022 5.0L Lariat Sport Appearance package, 4x4 with 3.31 Rear end, removed the rear blocks and put a full Eibach suspension on itand so much more done to it.
Wanting to put a Whipple SC on it, and was slightly worried aobut the 3.31 gears. Should I be? and what else should I know or do to it for the SC to go on and run smoothly, it is an everyday driver that I want to scream, it is my third vehicle that I do drive as a daily 2-3 days a week and want it to still be smooth and reliable. Can you give me some tips and suggestions?
Thanks,
Vince

I wouldn't worry about it, put the Whipple on and see what you think. If you feel the truck needs some extra help off the line, then take a serious look at changing the gear ratios.

I changed from 3.31's to 3.73's on my truck to help with the weight difference with the heavy 22" wheels. The 10R80 with it's triple O/D ratios, runs at highway speeds very nicely in 10th gear with the 3.73's. Since your truck is 4X4, it can get expensive if you can't do the work yourself.

I fix software bugs!
I have the FP/Whipple kit installed on my truck with 3.31 gears. I daily drive mine, but it’ll scream when I want it to. If you want an edge out of the hole, then yes 3.73’s will help, just depends on if you plan on racing everyday in your daily driver. Frankly I think the 10 speed and 3.31 gearing work well together. I’m running the FP/Whipple tune and the shifting is spot on. Nice and quick gear changes without any weird artifacts like lungeing, or engine flaring.

Good luck!

On order ‘22 RCSB.
I have 3.73s in my RCSB 4x4 and i think 3.31s would be fine. Like TN Ryan said, if you think it needs more gear later, then tackle it.
But, for now just put the boost to it and smile.
