I read today Ford forced their dealers to take extra heavy duty pickups to make numbers for Wall St.. Article said to look for deals on those trucks through the year end. Anyone else hear that?

I dunno but it would explain the 10 or so white XL Super Duties sitting at my local dealer. I assumed they were trucks built for fleet use that didnt get sold...

I take it back they only have 7 lol.

I am close to the truck plant, and Ford parked all these at the Kentucky Speedway a - for all intents and purposes - abandoned former NASCAR track.

If that is really what is going on guess it makes sense they shipped them to dealers that were a bit local.

The dealership I bought my truck at is a small, local place. They usually only have 1 or 2 Super Duties on the lot. They currently have 3 with 4 "In Transit".

Don't buy a 6.7 unless they fixed their screw up.

The timing gear on the crankshaft is friction fit on and they jump time because there is no key way to stop it.

Ford is spending $3B to expand Super Duty production by producing 100,000 Super Duty trucks @ the Oakville, Ontario plant starting in 2026. They can't build any more @ KTP. They are not "forcing" any dealerships to buy them.

I see all the inventory and hear that sales are down, and it makes sense to me considering the economy, interest rates, and uncertainty.

And then I see Ford reporting just the opposite:

That reinforces the story about big rebates coming to get rid of dealer inventory.

Beware

Ford builds these trucks to break. The days of driving them just putting in gas and changing oil are over.
