Generally I'm pretty good at searching, maybe I'm just using the wrong wording, but I cannot find any mention of this "issue" I'm having.
I have a 2023 Lariat with the regular B&O (no over-head speakers). The center channel is obviously louder than the rest of the speakers, and it's volume does not seem to scale with the other speakers. I'll try to paint you a picture of what I mean.
Get in the truck, AA connects and Spotify starts playing something, how about some Rise Against, volume is at 5. At this volume level, we'll say 95% of the sound is coming from the center channel alone. You can't hear anything from all the other speakers unless you close your eyes and think about it. Its not loud at 5, but it's as if there is a bluetooth speaker just sitting on the dash by itself. About what it sounds like.
Then a song comes on we know all the words of, and we turn the volume to 15 (half-way whatever that is, I think its 15). The door speakers are now louder than they were (duh) and the center is louder than it was, but they still aren't equal to each other. At this volume let's say is feels like 60% of the volume is from the center and 40% from everything else combined.
My 11yo daughter sitting in the back says she can't hear anything from the rear speakers, which do work if you get out go open the doors and stick your head next to them. Sound does come out, just not much. She says, and I confirm, when sitting in the back, all she can hear is the center channel. I've tried moving the fader around, but that thing is just about useless. If I move the fader to full rear, the front center is still louder than the rears by themselves. Its like Fade doesn't affect the center at all, its just for the doors? If I turn the volume up above the mid point, while also being quite loud in there, its almost even-ish but also far too loud to have a conversation with anyone.
I've changed the radio setting from "Surround" to "Stereo" and back, this doesn't seem to do anything substantial either. I think something is changing, but couldn't tell you what, its so marginal. Its like, there's a cross-over wired wrong somewhere and every signal above the lows is routed and mixed into the one center, so there's no bass at all and everything is mono.
Is the amplifier just weak/not great and can't drive the door speakers? Is the center just far more sensitive? Do I have a setting goobered somewhere? If I disconnect the center speaker, would that let the doors have more power?
Thoughts are appreciated, if this is already answered somewhere I haven't found just yet, link if you please.
Thanks
