This morning my wife and I stopped and did some quick shopping after driving about 4 miles from home. Came out of the store , got into the truck and started it up. Scrolled thru all the messages from the trailer hook up, no reverse brake assist, blah , blah, blah. We have our bike rack on with lights hooked up, so the truck thinks I have a trailer. Put the truck in drive and I get a message " transmission is not in park" The chimes are going off and I am able to drive forward . Stop and put the trans in park and back into drive and same message. Back into park, shut off, wait a few moments and restart. All is now good in Ford land, just like nothing happened .
I'm sure it was some electrical gremlin flexing its muscles, reminding me who is actually in charge " not me apparently ". Has anyone else seen this message? Thanks.

I get that error when the drivers door is not closed tight. Close the door and error gone.

Edit: Open drivers door with seat belt off, truck will put itself into park. Sometimes, I am finding that if I do somethings to fast, like put truck into park with the brake not fully depressed, truck put on the E Brake. The other day, I wanted to move the truck about 12 inches, jumped in, didn't close the started it, tried to put it into drive, the truck would not allow me to move the shifter. Had to slow down and try again

I don't recall a drivers door ajar message, but I will remember this if it happens again.

I get this every few weeks. Usually when I get out for a quick errand while leaving the truck on
