I’m going to be called a heretic!
These stock Hankook Durapros are fine in the snow! This is after driving in a 30” storm, an ice storm and last nights 8” dump

I agree, I took my truck on a road trip to Colorado approximately 3 weeks after ownership, one of the towns we visited was completely covered in snow and I purposely went up a few of the side streets that were extremely steep in two-wheel drive and they surprised me quite well. Then on the way back over the past it was Blizzard conditions and they seem to do pretty good as well. They have the same model designation at my local tire shop but it definitely does not look like these, I believe these are custom-made for Ford to get MPG, I'm kind of worried about getting a different tire because it's going to kill my gas mileage.

I am concerned about the difference in mileage as well.

Local tire shop website shows special letters for the Ford version.

Dynapro AT2 (RF11) Ford OE
275/60R20 115T

Have no experience with them in the snow and at two years old I'll see how they do for me this year if it snows.

If the stockers aren't 3 Peak snow rated, don't expect much from them.
The only "all season" , not to be confused with "all weather" that I've used that are halfway decent are Michelin Defender when it comes to snow.

Still, nothing compares to a dedicated snow tire.

On hankook's site they say they are, but they don't have 3 peak on the tire itself. It's as if ford's OEM version is slightly different -- not sure why they'd make an exception for the OEM tire, perhaps it's ford's move? Their tire history with the explorers may have them overly cautious.

(edit - seems some of them no longer have the 3P rating while others do ?‍♂ )

Mine sucked in the snow, but coming from an Expedition EL the F-150 sucks in snow all around by comparison. Suburbans and Expeditions are just next level in deep snow.

Fords choice to engage the rear locker with the 4WD in deep snow mode on the STX is silly too. The locker is fine and dandy if I am stuck, but on a snow covered road it just kicks the rear out like a go kart. Should not have the locker engaged unless it’s deep mud/ruts mode imo. Or is it deep snow/sand? Been a while since I last used the dial in March. I guess if it’s sand too locker makes sense.

Have you looked at your actual axle weight distribution? Mine is 3400 / 2700 and handles well in slippery conditions. Light rear ends on some trucks have always been a weak point in slippery situations.
