I recently noticed mine doing similar - it would turn off engine then almost immediately restart - seems to be linked to having heated seats turned on and early in my drive - not sure if this is normal behavior or an issue? I have not noticed this behavior now that it has warmed and I am not using the heated seat function
Yeah it's hard to tell if it's a problem or programming. I assumed it was a problem and it turned out to be a bad battery but from what I understand it's also designed to limit use under power consuming conditions. Mine didn't give any alerts before about battery charging. Would be nice if we had a battery condition page in the cluster to give us a heads up of potential problems but I'm sure they would view that as a potential headache.

My 2017 EB had an option to display the auto start/stop status in the cluster. When mine wasn't turning off I used it to figure out why. It was saying "Engine On due to Battery Charging" because my battery was 4 years old and starting to fade.

But my point is that screen was great and called out the reason it remains ON. I don't know if it is still a display option on the '21s.

Mine stopped working..
Ford says my battery is fine but when I turn the truck off the line comes up on screen like it's downloading something..
It says start engine or turn off engine.. power saving.
That tells me not a fully charged Battery.
Now what?

An update to the original post. Ford ended up testing my battery and determining it was bad. They replaced it about 9 months ago. But its kinda doing something similar again.

Mines not quite doing this but I noticed that my truck wont auto-stop lately. Battery just says vehicle charging as a reason. I've been driving it around all weekend. I just measured the battery and its at 12.4 volts resting. I'm wondering if its software/update related.

I didn't know about having to have a certain amount of brake pressure as one of the criteria to engage Auto start/stop but if you are stopped and let up on the brake just a bit, not enough to roll but just slightly, the engine will restart.
I use this to start the engine when at a light a few seconds before traffic starts to move...I am not convinced starting the engine and accelerating immediately is a good thing.
Whether or not it matters I don't know but it makes the mechanic/engineer in me feel better.
