Being retired and all, I went on investigative research on Ford.com for F-150 Platinum from areas Midwest, East, South, and far west as Oklahoma/Texas before coming to a conclusion. There is lots and lots of non-delivered dealer orders with viewable Window Sticker VIN numbers with production dates from January through March of 2022 with all the goodies that’s currently being deleted from May.

Items like the Motion Seats, Max Recline Seats, Carmelo Color Interior are still listed in the “Viewed Window Sticker”. These window stickers are currently 4,5, and 6 months old.

So these F-150’s are just sitting out on some vacant lot rusting away? ?

I have feeling these vehicles are going be chipped up in fall, shipped to dealers lots, and will be incentivized for sale throughout next year, meaning one could be sad after paying the MSRP + $6K lot pricing going on today for a soon to be one year old 2022 F-150.

For all others with custom orders, hang in there. It will be alright.?

On a side note, there are several “green” custom order window stickers with the current deletions scattered around. Blue stickers are the dealer stock orders. It looks to me that many has told the dealer “Go Pound Sand”.?

You may find window stickers online, but believe me they aren't on the lots anymore. I live in Oklahoma. If they weren't ordered for someone, they are often sold before they hit the lot. Few and far between out here, even XL work trucks are all bought up. If they bailed on a special order, someone likely picked it up and paid the ridiculous mark up they are asking.

Correct. My '22 was built June 9. Still don't have it. Sat until July 25, now on railcar. It was not involved in 'waiting for chips' or any other holds. In this case its a matter of transportation.
I suspect this has to do with many of the delayed deliveries.

Hey @John Houseman

I got mine from Metro Ford in OKC, and they still have brand new 21's , I see they still have 21 Roush F150's...but still, $75K...ouch.
But they by far had the most F150's when I got mine.

PS, drove thru Marlow alot, wife has family in Duncan

There may or may not be a big dump of 2022's that they suddenly finish, but I still think it will pale compared to the pent-up demand. Any 2022, even at full sticker will be a bargain next to a 2023.

Ugh…did I say anything about current inventory sitting on dealer lots. No, I didn’t. There is minimum amount now but slowly growing especially with XL’s & XLT’s.

As written, it was a observation across sizable portion of dealers with Platinum built vehicle between January through March not shipped and not in transit. Add those to Dealer Order Platinums being built between currently through September. Add in the rejected Special Order Customer Green Sticker Platinum vehicles‘s coming in and it’s all adding up to a big dump. We’ll see and know by November If this observation is correct on the Platinums. I very much appreciate the comments whether agreeing or not…just observing From online search.

As for other non-Platinum F-150, I cannot opinion because I didn’t do observation on those units.

in last month, my dealer has quite a few 150s showing up, a few are still in transit, but his lot if filling up wit 150s. he also has 3 raptors, (2 are used)
its a weird mix and one of the lariats is stickered for much more than i paid for my 22 KR
I did see some Raptors on few lots asking $100k plus. Dang… that’s some expensive fun.

One of my sons works for NPS, covering Southwestern Parks, BLM, and Federal lands. Inspects area environment for improvement and goes places few are allowed to go for work inspection. They have the complement of 250/2500 Ford, Chevy, and Dodge trucks for back country travel. He has taught and certified rugged back country off-roading, including bouldering, stream crossing, and desert crossing to their staff. He had Raptor for a few months with oversized tires to get the additional ground clearance needed for getting over trail boulders. Whether it was on the highway or back country trails, it was the best vehicle for being way out there In his opinion when in a compromised position (Getting in & out safely).

AH-HA…Got the proof now! ? Here‘s a “click bait” picture that I just snap while reading up on NFL Training Camps on Yahoo Sports. Problem is the picture shows old Expeditions instead of F-150’s.

Keep telling yourself this.
Production numbers are again down about 20%. Demand has not decreased. You will see no real discounts for the next year.

None of the dealers in my area have any inventory. Their websites all show trucks on order, but no window stickers. I would bet they won’t even get those trucks. I just don’t see any big dump.

I don’t have to tell myself anything because it’s collected research. One goes on data collected to form opinion.

Yeah, it could stay tight but with recession in place now, it could get real tough for everyone, especially with these jacked vehicles prices dealers are charging while the banks are not lending based on jacked price, requiring higher down payments. I believe that I read that yesterday on the actual Ford forum yesterday. Ford is worried and trying to get a handle on it but cannot be seen as “pricing controls” of the distribution. Especially since Ford would like to evolve into complete direct order base system without the local dealer sales site overhead.

So will vehicles be sold in few years like a Amazon style of business?
