My dealer performed the sensor and cam realignment process. Twice. That didn't help. The IPMA kept failing on the firmware update. Replacing it (per Ford Engineering direction) got us past those failures (an onto others).

My dealership (they) didn't decide to replace the IPMA on their own. They were directed by Ford Engineering to do so. Twice. Also took THREE different APIMs to get THAT to accept programming. There was a bad batch of APIMs as well as a bad batch of Ethernet/USB programming cables as well as SEVERAL instances when the servers for FDRS were hosed for programming a number of modules, including but not limited to the IPMA and APIM. All confirmed by Ford Engineering, not (just) my dealership.

I've got 14 *pages* of FDRS history on my truck as they attempted to 'unstick' my greyed-out 'Automatic updates' slider, re-enabling lane centering (which had gotten fracked sometime during my 2 month and 4 day service visit) and to get my Job 1 truck completely updated to Sync 2.8.3 (22095_PRODUCT Revision: 421).

After the first week or so of attempting to address my Job 1 truck, my dealership did nothing that Ford Engineering did not explicitly tell them to do/try.

Not the case in all situations.
Yeah.. Ok.

Picked up my truck on Tue and my dealer told me the same thing. They even showed me the proprietary correspondence between the tech and Ford Engineering where they admit the download issues being reported by dealers and they don't have a solution yet. Went in for a Rear Brake Assist Not Available dash warning and alarm. After replacing the rear camera and two modules as directed by Ford Engineering, I still have the warning. I'll post the work order when I get home over the weekend which lists the part numbers for the modules.

My Job 1 XLT took an OTA update back in November and took out the onboard modem so no updates or any connectivity for me right now. Been fighting with the dealership to get the GWM replaced per TSB 22-2208 (among other things) but they are a bunch of morons. Maybe one day they’ll get my truck right but I’m skeptical.

Youre in Houston.. there are several guys on the forum that could possibly help you out in Houston. If youre in Dallas ever you could bring your truck to me. I wouldnt wait in a dealer. Youll never get it right.

Depends on the build.
EDIT - New Update as of 4-30-2022

ALL Job 1 now are available to update to 22095

Job 2 there is no apim update available whatever you are at is what is available.
July build 21136
August or September and later 21223(what OP is)
That was the version until

2022 Job 1
they have 21297 it has the Alexa update(gateway update required also)and 22012 Is shipping in newer 2022 builds seems to be starting April.

EDIT -Correct a few details.
5-3-22 Edit Correct JOb 1 version
I'm on v4.0.22012 after picking up from dealer during first week of May. Would you be kind to check if any updates may be pending for my VIN. As far as OTA updates, I'm up to date. I'd like to know if it's even worth it at the moment to purchase the tools to upgrade any future APIM updates, etc., or just wait a bit longer? I would like to have confirmation that 22012 is the most up to date release as of today.

Okay, so I finally watched your video. I'd seen others posted, but again, not really being prepared to attempt the installs myself, I hadn't really dove into any tutorials. Yours was great, very clear and detailed, but did leave me with a few thoughts and couple questions:

* My first impression is that any temptation I had to try this was immediately dashed by the price tag. I have seen the mongoose for a bit cheaper (perhaps pre-owned), but with the charger and software license, it's still more than I'd be willing to part with. I'd be much more willing to pony up for some aftermarket upgrade, but $500-ish to obtain something I've already paid for and should already have just doesn't fly with me.

* Another forum user was gracious enough to send me screenshots of my truck's status and available updates. After seeing your video, I'm all but certain that the screenshots they sent were from the same FDRS software. If I'm correct, I'd like to know if there is any way for me to at least access my truck's history and status by purchasing a license. Even without the ability to install, having the ability to know what my dealer is seeing (and what they have or have not done) would be huge.

* Your tutorial relieved a lot of my anxiety regarding bricking the truck, however it also left me with one burning question: why are so many dealerships apparently unable to complete what appears to be a really straightforward procedure?!? I'm so naive to think that every install will execute without issue like yours did, but what could possibly be making this so difficult to obtain for so many job1 owners? If it were just me & my local dealer, I'd have no trouble believing they just didn't want to put in the time & effort, but I've seen so many reports of people trying (and failing) to have their dealerships install that there HAS to be something more to it than your example(?)
I'm sure they are all overwhelmed and most do not want to embrace the technology aspects, so they try to cut corners the best they can.

Can you check what your Sync screen looks like under Software Update Scheduling?
Is the enable button greyed out?

If so, your truck is in the infamous 1.7 OTA APIM purgatory, if I'm not mistaken

Yep, its greyed out… Also going through some old mail and found this… So I’m hopeful for a fix with my upcoming appointment.

@Snakebitten gave you the correct info. If you want to avoid the dealer I can send you files. You’ll load onto a usb and wait. This particular update can take up to a month to kick off ..

I’d certainly give it a try. And sorry I know there are a ton of threads on this and the info I need is probably out there but I had no idea I had this issue until randomly on this site and seeing a thread about updates. Went to check my truck and then fell down this rabbit hole so Im just now getting caught up.

This USB update, would I simply load files onto it and leave it plugged in? And how can you send these, email?

Thank you!

Combine Jesse's incredibly generous offer, with a dose of patience, and you have an amazing option that few on the planet have in your situation. You simply plug the USB stick in and go on with your life. :)
