Yeah, you're getting the Super Duty package confused with the F150. It doesnt come with all of that. They dont really want you doing any "real" plowing with an 150. Resi driveways type of thing... It can only handle a small plow anyways - with the 'package.'
That sounds completely reasonable and makes a lot of sense.

We'll see what the Service dept says.

If you're right.. I wasted fifty bucks.

Did you get any confirmation on possible different rate springs used on a "snow plow package" optioned F-150?

I picked up my 22 last night and one of the sales people was telling me the same thing.

But they didn't have any part #s to back it up when I asked how he knew that.

Sort of like the FX4 vs non FX4 conversation.

Nah, I wouldnt say you wasted $50... It does seem like they change your spring rate depending on your trim package. See page 4 of this, this is from the 2015 model though

Seems like your plow is still only rated up to 450/500# which isnt much for a plow...My fisher pushed 900# and it was only a straight blade and no wings.

There’s a physical button for the snow plow prep option on my 22.

I will say that this truck does sit up pretty good in the front. Making me second guess any need for a leveling kit.

Maybe there’s something to the snow plow prep and possibly different rate Springs??

Yeah but I never intended to install a "snow plow". It hasn't snowed around here since the 70's.

I wanted to use the dash switch and factory wiring harness to power more lighting. Pre- July 7th builds (I ordered it in March) came with a switch on the dash.

But hey.. if nothing else, I suppose it could just be one more option on the check list for resale value.

Although I don't plan on selling it. But you never know...

Also worth noting... I have a RCSB which seems to be a totally different animal. A "unicorn" you might say!

Maybe the Ford engineers decided that NOBODY would be crazy enough to mount a Snow Plow on the front of a RCSB so they figured I'd be better off with a Hill Decent switch.

And they might be right!

The Hill Decent worked GREAT when I was driving down the mountain on my "maiden off road trip".

Pretty much just let the truck drive itself while focusing on avoiding ruts & boulders.

Also.. the "Features" they turn off to power the Snow Plow AREN'T AVAILABLE on a RCSB anyway.

So that might have something to do with it.

"Yeah, okay dummy... you want to put a friggin Snow Plow on your little tiny F150? Get your stylus out and start punching your touch screen"!

I too live 10 miles from civilization.
But between me and civilization is a twisty, mountain road and not having to reach for my High Beam switch while negotiating a curve is handy.

What ever happened to the good old days when your high beam switch was a foot switch?!!
........or change radio stations pushing the Wonder Bar foot button also on floor.

WHOA!...
You might be "dating me" on THAT one!

I had a 48 Buick with the starter button at the bottom of the gas pedal but I honestly never heard of that.

Now you have me curious... make & model?

Wonder bar radio was on some top GM cars (Olds, Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac) in 60's and radio had a long push bar switch that every time you push it, the radio would seek out next station and some cars also had a button on floor just like and in addition to high beam switch. 1960 Buick had starter switch on carburetor so you pushed gas to floor to activate starter with key on.

Trippy.
Automobile tech has certainly come a LONG way.
Now you "search" for radio stations from satellites 24 thousand miles away!

Although I have to say... I'm pretty disappointed with satellite radio. Switching from broadcast FM to satellite really accentuates the poor audio quality of satellite.

You'd think that with the millions of dollars they spend orbiting satellites they would have put more emphasis on audio quality.

Mine is a RCSB too. See 12/20/21 build date thread

We have so many trees and cut banks along roads in Oregon that the vehicle can't "see" the satellites and songs drop out constantly. I use fm HD stations or my Spotify Premium for music. I can't believe they haven't built in some buffering so songs can play completely from satellites. Sirius can't understand why I don't sign up for more service. They bombard me with offers.

Hey... I live in a Redwood Forest so I "feel your pain".

But when I'm out in the wide open, I'm VERY unimpressed with Satellite Radio.

The "rewind" function is cool but the audio quality is so shitty... why would you want to rewind that crap?!!

I really had high hopes for Satellite Radio and was looking forward to subscribing.

But there's NO WAY I'll be paying to listen to THAT!

Plus... I have my Music Library via USB. I have Android with the Power Amp App with an 11 band EQ that I dialed in for my stock XLT sound system. It sounds GREAT!
