Should Sport Mode Shift to 4x4?

Adding 4A to an XLT is not something new, but it's not something done by many.

However, it IS the only way that I would be willing to step "down" to an XL/XLT.
In fact, having an XL Powerboost with 4A is incredibly attractive option. I have fought off the urge more than a few times.

And Jesse has me fighting it off yet again. ?

I keep hoping mine craps out and I can warranty a new one and just pay the difference to upgrade to 4A... Lol.. Probably not the way it would work...

warranty will only pay for as built unit
but it never hurts to ASK the servicing or fixing dealer. you just never know

thats actually an excellent price new for a rotating mass of neat stuff inside
plus it has a warranty

i drove to town in sport 4A yum
drove home in sport 2H . i know why the systme likes 4A...somebody loss traction at two stop signs with my normal foot pressure when not in sport ?

You also have to swap out the dash switch for the one that includes 4A. But I don't remember it being too costly.
And then of course some Forscan editing to notify the truck its now fancy pants All Wheel Drive. ?

Sport in 4A is awesome. In 2H, I attract a bit of attention without trying. Dang tires get a bit vocal.

The swap to 4A is pretty simple. the transfer case isnt that big a deal. I did the whole swap in a few hours.

You do need the new ATCM(Switch in dash) TCCM, and the transfer case.

It is stupid for Ford to not offer it in lower trims. I do wish if I could go back in time I would get a powerboost. I wasnt very educated on the trucks when I bought it. We jsut needed one and the one I got met all the demands I had at the time. 4WD and sport appearance. Im not a chrome guy for my trucks.

The transfer case new could be had for about the price of used. You do want to confirm you get the correct one for the truck. I cant say for certain but there may be variations based on engine. I dont know.

The TCCM is a plug and go module. No programming required. THe ATCM is also.

The As Build changes are not that many.

It was a well worth it upgrade.

50 cents.....its not 4A

my 16 exp had iwe and 4A same transfers case
as did my 2013 150
on trucks now with no iwe and the 4A case the front gears set is turning all the time.
