Seals/Gasketing comparisson (401A vs 502A)

While looking at a buddy's 401A we started noticing some difference between our trucks, wondering what other with different model/trims have.

1. Cab to Box seal (401A curved inward, 502A spread outward)
2. Rear door seal (401A no secondary seal on bottom half, 502A with secondary seal)

502A is a 2021 (June build) *Also has the B&O Unleashed, if that might be a reason for the extra door seal.
401A is a 2023

FWIW, that 'bed seal' can be pushed in or out. Not sure how it goes but I run a cord in through my rear sliding and it'll pull it out while I just push it back in.

The bed seal on mine can be flipped either way.

My 2021 STX has all of the door seals but no bed seal. Maybe it’s a 2021 vs 22 or 23 thing?

FWIW, that 'bed seal' can be pushed in or out. Not sure how it goes but I run a cord in through my rear sliding and it'll pull it out while I just push it back in.

I know it can be either way, just found it curious that it came from the factory both ways, and which way might be the 'correct' way.

Wow...didn't expect that. huh...so either there is no rhyme or reason for the differences for what seals you get, or they just build with what was available at the line, and if it is missing, doesn't matter, just ship it anyway.

According to the parts manual it should be there...so its like the factory just didn't install it...maybe ran out of them...

My 502A's left bottom body seal (for both left doors) some how gone missing during transport but most of clips were still on the body. I didn't notice it till 8 months later and dealer replace it under warranty.

Well I finally found in the parts website. if the image is representative of its intended installation, it appears that it should be curved inward. Like the 2023 401A has it.

Keep in mind that minor engineering or component changes are often made between model years based on improvements or supply availability. It's not that unusual. And if the parts/components are backwards compatible, they'd show as the replacement parts for the older models also.
