So, an All-Electric VW SUV, made in a dedicated plant with Rivian underpinnings....ALL EV, its not the way car companies like Ford, GM and even Volvo now are headed. No Thanks...Cheers

Exactly. A VW EV SUV to ruin the name of Scout. Yawn.

My family had a Scout II back in the early 70's with a 345 V8, auto, AC, etc. It was basic white with tan vinyl interior. My dad had a heavy trailer hitch installed and we towed a 19' travel trailer from Tucson up to the White mountains every summer and several times down to Mexico. The Scout was a beast, sounded good when on the throttle (but not as good as an early 70's GM 350 with 4 barrel carb!) ... had dual exhaust standard. We would set up camp and then take it over the sand dunes and in the mountains crossing creeks over rocks and up to a fishing area ... great memories of that one. He traded it for a '76 Blazer, which had a larger interior, but towed poorly and had a lot of transmission problems. He went back to Ford in '77 with a F150 XLT 4X4 - 400V8 and never moved from Ford again ...
