Rustproofing and undercoating?

Planning to use line x to protect the underbody from longterm corrosion. For undercoating or rustproofing it's $599 in my area. Or you can have both done for $899. Both services have lifetime warranty for new cars.

I'm leaning towards only getting Rust proofing. Or does it make sense to do both. Thoughts?

It will not freeze, crack, pocket and fail like outdated “rubberized” undercoats. ValuGard Undercoat is warranted for Lifetime on new vehicles against peeling, flaking, or sagging and rust-through perforation of underbody panels.

I went with just the undercoating after noticing surface rust accumulating after only 37 days at the dealer in mild winter/spring weather waiting for a part. My service department recommended a place to go and they did it for $400 with a lifetime guarantee. I don't regret it one bit.

Thanks - I'm definetly wanting to add protection before winter and like that this doesn't require reapplication.

Hoping for 20 years, so I'll put the lifetime warranty to a test.

With rust Proofing I'm not yet sold on also getting the undercoating. It would look better but aside from that I'm not sure of the benefit.

If I decide to sell at some point, I'd think that seeing a rust free undercarriage would be at least as favorable as seeing a coated underside, if not more.
