Take it to your dealer and have it documented

I bought a brand new 2023 F150 and it was the same. Way too much rust for a new truck. I live in California, humidity is not a problem. I tried to take it back with no success. This is my third F150, might be my last. My last two were awesome, had over 250,000 on each before I sold them. No issues on either one, never went into the shop for any repairs. My 2023 started with rust and less than a year, had to have the transmission replaced. New transmission is making noise. Hopefully yours is better. It makes me wonder what is going on with these vehicles. I'm curious about others with the rust issue. Are they refurbished new trucks that never left the factory so they can say they're still new?Just took a look under my brand new 2025 F-150 Platinum. 49 miles on it, bought at FL dealer a few weeks after landed on the lot. Been sitting on the FL lot since delivery. I've heard of the rusty axle but thought they had the issue resolved. Looking under our X7, it looks like it should, completely like a new car that was built out of parts that are new. Are you guys seeing this level of rust on your brand new vehicles? Is this something I should bring back to the dealer? I'm honestly shocked. 85k truck. Are they all like this?

Completely normal for a (insert any car manufacturer) in Florida.Completely normal per ford
Hey now!As a fellow Plat owner, I'm sick for you... I know there's humidity down there but that looks worse than some Canadian trucks I've seen.
Sorry man.
Maybe you can do some sort of treatment and have it sealed somehow?
We went to a different Ford dealer as we were out of town, looked at at least 10 different 150's and 250's. Minimal rust. Some, but nothing like what I see on mine. Was thinking maybe getting dry ice done and spray protective coating but I'm reading where dryice is not suggested for rust ? Hopefully, the dealer does something to remove it and spray over it to slow it down. Open to suggestions.Completely normal for a (insert any car manufacturer) in Florida.
It all depends on where they were "sitting" and how long before being put up for sale. Some dealers get a small batch, others trade inventory amongst, etc., and still sit before being "sold." Until you know the exact history of that particular truck, then the fact remains the same: Floridian areas are not your best friend. It doesn't take much time to get corrosion going on vehicles, some do better than others within a 30-45-day period. That's the reality of living within areas such as these. We went to a different Ford dealer as we were out of town, looked at at least 10 different 150's and 250's. Minimal rust. No, it's a good 2 hrs inland. I tracked the delivery even. My guess, it was driven from Dearborn area to loading area on salty roads. Maybe someone can chime in but the fact that the leaf springs and the axle show so much corrosion it makes me think the leaf springs were attached to the axle and left out in the elements for an extended period of time prior to being assembled on the truck.Any chance that FL dealer was located near the coast? Salt air can do that very quickly.
Forums are full of people with rust issues like these since 21, just shocked to this degree. I have had people look at the pictures and then under the truck and they say the pictures make it look worse than it is but the flash is just more reality if you ask me ? waiting for the new car manager to call me back.It all depends on where they were "sitting" and how long before being put up for sale. I've seen some newer Lexus models take a corrosion hit in less than 35 days, especially on their fancy brake systems.
Wow, that looks great! Any details you can provide about how you were able to clean and protect would be greatly appreciated. As usual, if you want it done right you have to do it yourself. Here is my 2023 Platinum when brand new. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was normal. I had them contact Ford and never heard anything back. These pictures are before and after I fixed it. I spent a lot of hours cleaning and prepping and it has held up well.

That's great man! Thanks so much! When you say clean, were you using a wire wheel to get off the bulk? I'm assuming this protective coaring you just used on the iron components? Did you replace any bolts or nuts? Also, any concerns about this effecting your warranty? I plan to add the Ford ProCare 8/100k plan.Step 1: Clean
Step 2: Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver Gel Spray
Step 3: Scrub, scrape until it’s gone
Step 4: Clean
Step 5: Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer

Step 7: VHT Epoxy Paint
Let me know if you want more information on the products because I still have them in my garage.
