It is not an air tight box. Air scoop doesn't snap in like OEM but it is tight there. It is however, not tight around the cone.

Pretty straight forward to install with basic shop tools. Took me 2.5 hours but it could've been done in half that time. Roush instructions were clear but some stuff didn't apply to my model. I have attached some pictures below with some notes on them. Number of reasons why I decided to do this.
1. Don't need to change filters.
2. Performance has been improved in eco, regular and sport mode. Not as noticeable in eco or regular mode but in sport I did feel a difference. Can't say for certain as I don't have any scientific tools to measure.
3. Cool factor.
4. Potentially mpg improvement but too early to say.

Thanks for the notes. If I ever get around to doing mine they certainly will help.

Just got back from a 1000 mile trip with the Roush CAI installed on my 2021. Almost a full MPG better (0.8 mpg) than I'm used to. Ran 70-80 MPH on the highway (about 80% of the trip). Surprised at this, TBH.

I love mine so far. I haven’t noticed any mpg improvements but I definitely feel more power in sport. I generally feel the truck is breathing better! Only thing I dislike so far is the gap between the air box and the cone pipe. I emailed S&B to see if and when they will have a CAI for PowerBoost. They said the have no immediate plans. They have a CAI for 3.5L EcoBoost and I wonder if that fits on PowerBoost. I believe their unit performs better than Roush. It has a more direct pipe leading into the air box and there is no gap around the cone pipe.

I’m curious if the physics due to the intake air getting heated and pressurized by hot turbos and then cooled a little by sending the hot pressurized air through intercooler tubing before it reaches the intake manifold just renders a CAI ineffectual?

Looks great! I installed the S&B on my 23 5.0 SC Lariat FX4 and included a new larger entry point but they’re pretty much identical but you have the Roush name which I think adds another 5 Hp over S&B ? I too noticed a faster throttle response as well. Again, Congratulations looks great!

What made you decide on the Roush? My 2011EB had a K&N, my 2015EB had a Banks Cold Air Intake and you went with Roush. Can I ask why? FWIW I never saw a noticable improvement on my two K&N and Banks and would try Roush if you saw something of good benefit... more along the lines of MPG increase, dont really care about HP\Torque increases.
I like the look.

as someone mentioned earlier. Intakes have people on both sides of the fence when it comes to whether or not theres any benefit.

intakes on turbo vehicle are kinda pointless. youre right, air compressed by the turbos gets hot and then the intercooler cools them before going into the engine.
Most do it for the sound but remember to make more power, getting more air is important so intakes do help.
in reality, an intercooler would help more than any intake as far as power whether youre stock or not.

anyway, i'm half asleep and rambling, but an intake alone isnt really doing much for any turbo vehicle, but add hotside and cold side improved piping and a more efficient intercooler and now your intake can be justified haha
