Anyone have a recommendation for a good rear retractable step that doesn’t break the bank and doesn’t need you to drill through the underside of the frame.

I don’t have the integrated tailgate step, so I installed an AMP Bedstep a few weeks ago. Works pretty well. No drilling needed; just replace a few of the bolts holding on the bumper.

@RJL1400 I have that AMP step available for sale--if you're interested. I just got a Raptor and it will not work with the dual exhaust pipes. I pulled it off my '21 XLT.

I put an AMP fold out step on my Chevy and it worked reasonably well. When looking for a new pickup I was interested only in the Ram and Ford trucks with their tailgate options as they also offer the larger gas tank. I much prefer the Ford tailgate with the pop-out step and grab bar to the options from Ram which cost more and don't really do more.

A problem with the 2022 Tundra is that is using a AMP step one is doing so blind and if you miss the step it is not going to be a pleasant experience. I go up into the bed of my trucks frequently and seeing the problems with the new Tundra I cut it from my new pickup buy list.

What bolts did you replace and do you mind sharing where you got them? Thanks!
