How would one know it their truck is receiving or is capable of receiving OTA updates?

I have not yet seen an OTA update come through. Automatic updates are on, schedule is set and the truck is connected to my home WiFi.
I purchased my truck a couple weeks ago and I found out I was WAY behind on updates. I did a marathon run on Friday night/saturday updating everything but the BCM using fdrs.
I think everything is up to date but the APIM is on the version just shy of the newest update that came out a couple weeks ago. It wasn’t available for me to update.

How can I make sure my truck is communicating to the cloud as it should be and isn’t “blacklisted” or whatever?

Also, can I just turn on Adaptive Cruise Control or am I missing some additional hardware?

TIA!!!

Looks like the last update I have received is 24-PU0105-CMR-FX. Looking at the spreadsheet there are many updates I have not received on my 22 PB. Can you please run my vin?

Guys, remove your VIN and message me the request. I will not be checking VINs publicly anymore.

I took my 2021 F150 in for service last week and told the dealer I haven’t received an OTA update since version 22192.

I showed him the modules that were needing an update based on the results from here, and he said they’d also look at any APIM update requirements.

I was pretty surprised when I picked up the truck that they said there were no module updates or APIM updates required. Any recommendations on what to try next, since that visit seemed to be a total bust?

That is what most people say happen when they try to get the dealer to do updates. Ford does not pay them to do them and nobody likes to work for free, so they will always tell the customer it's up to date or make up some excuse as to why they can't do them.

Assuming you are still perhaps under warranty, you need to craft some ‘problems’ you’re having with the vehicle around the modules you want updated. Dealers won’t just update for no reason.
An example might be that your iPhone isn’t charging properly. They would then update the WACM module in hopes that it helps to solve your problem.

Technically, there aren't any "required" as long as everything is running properly, and no codes are present. But like others have said, the dealer doesn't work for free, and Ford's not paying. A mongoose and a few FDRS sessions should get you there.

The truck is just outside of its 3yr/35k mile warranty by a few months/1k miles, but I had some other repairs done (rear speakers replaced, backup brake assist recalibrated, and examining the broken OTA updates) performed under the extended warranty which required paying the deductible.

So, having paid for them to scan the software and then be told there’s nothing wrong or missing seems odd, no? To the point about “crafting problems” or “everything is running properly,” wouldn’t the fact that the OTA hasn’t been working (and that’s the “standard” method for Ford to update their vehicles) be a valid enough issue?

But, if “manufacturing issues” is the best recommendation, and I’ll have to pay for another deductible, here’s a list of the SW updates that were needed based on my last VIN lookup. What would be some “issues” that I can mention related to these updates? I showed these to the dealer, by the way, and they said none of these showed up on their end…

You can try to say that you have random driver assist errors like pre-collision not available to see if they do the IPMA for you since that one is not available OTA. However, if there are no codes being reported that line up with what you say and they cannot duplicate the concern, they may not do anything.
