Was checking software updates. When I clicked on Update Now got this new to me message.
Just curious what the message might mean.

I just got my truck back from the dealership for pre 3/36 warranty expiration work. One thing they did was update APIM per TSB 22-2226. The write up says there were a number of updates available. I’m curious what they did (because I thought I was fairly up to date) and where I stand…thanks

Not sure why that's there, but you got OTA 24-PU0223-VI-RBS sent to you on 4/20 and it went through fine. Nothing has been sent since then.

You're on the latest Sync version and only showing the updates below, so it seems like they updated a bunch of stuff. Lucky you.

Thank you! I mentioned getting headlamp faults at startup…seems like the headlamp control module update would have been appropriate.

I would appreciate any help with a vin lookup for my 2021, # 1FTFW1E81MKD86399. ford dealer said the apim needs to be replaced for about $1200. The version # is 20312 which i assume is the orginal one. The truck has 44,800 miles so its out of warranty. Before i put the money out can this be looked up in fdrs and tell me if that's correct. I read these posts and see some of you are really sharp on these and wondering if it's possible in fdrs to see if there are updates for the apim and if there's away to get the updates started and see what ford did and if it does need replacement.

Yea, your truck is on Sync 20301 which means the APIM will most likely need to be replaced. The chances of recovering the module even with FDRS are very low. There is no way to guarantee that will work.

The APIM is fairly easy to get to if you're mechanically inclined. If you're interested, I can ask to see if in your case, I can have someone sell you one that is already properly programmed to your truck and you can swap it out yourself. If will cost you half (maybe less than half) of what the dealer is charging you.

Thanks so much for the information, i did do the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade on my 2015 f150 and pruchased one preprogramed. I've only had the truck less than a month and with all the electronics am going to look at a warranty to protect myself but will keep your suggestion in my mind. Thanks again
