My F-150 was in today for a 7:30AM appointment. At 11:30AM they called and said all module updates were applied, except that the APIM update is failing. At 6:30PM they called and said APIM is still failing and the battery is down to 4%. They are going to "test" the APIM module in the AM to see if fails a test, and then will be replaced under warranty. Can I have my VIN checked to see if they did updates and if so,... what updates were done and what updates are still available... 1FTEW1EP2NKD64030

The only thing they tried to update was the APIM, and it did fail even with the USB method. I do not have FDRS to see what module updates you have pending.

I would be appreciative if someone can do a VIN check for me. No updates here since October either.

You had 3.5.3 sent to your truck twice, but as has happened to many, it failed to download the files it needed before the update expired.

they did try several times to do apim software update which was not successful. FDRS shows only a couple

Very strange. Your truck has never received an OTA, yet you are at Sync 22136 which is supposed to be past the bad software version where 2021 trucks are known to get stuck.

Your dealer connected your truck to FDRS, but never attempted to update anything. For sure there are updates pending for your truck. I don't have a good answer as to why you have never gotten an update. It can't be a coincidence. Something has to be wrong.

Thank you @rugedraw. Strange is right, nobody can give me a clear answer at Ford or at dealer. I guess they will be on the line with the Ford TAC team trying to figure out the TSB when I drop it off.

3.5.3 was sent to you late January, but failed to install as has happened to many with that update. Nothing to do but wait for it to be resent.

Your truck is on Sync 22192 which is one version before the latest for 2021 trucks. You had OTA 3.5.3 sent to you late January, but it failed to download the files it needed before it timed out and expired. It is a very common problem with that update. There is nothing wrong with your truck.....you just gotta wait for them to resend the update.
