Can anyone check my VIN to see if updates are available?

Ah sh*t. Another one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your truck is on Sync 20301 which is bad software from 2020 known to break the OTA process. You have ALL the updates pending. You modem also appears on "unauthorized" in PTS. Your truck is not even talking to the cloud right now. Hopefully you have an extended warranty because the factory warranty expires in 13 days (unless you're over 36k miles in which case, it is expired already). You need the modem activated, and most importantly, the dealer needs to diagnose your APIM as faulty and replace it with a new one or you will never get a successful update sent to you.

Edit: You need a lot more updates than the list posted above. There are certain updates that are only released once other updates are installed.

The last time your truck reported to the cloud, it spit out more codes than I think I have ever seen. Your modem is still in fleet mode. It needs to be turned on to retail mode by the dealer for your connectivity to work properly.

Thanks for the info. I did all the updates that were available in FDRS (there were a tonne), the only DTC I see is the U-2100 "Initial Configuration Not Complete" for the GWM.

Oh that's not good and explains all the codes I saw. Is your FDRS license still active? You can try a GWM config and if that doesn't work, run a PMI on it and when FDRS asks if it is the original module, select "no". I've never had to PMI that module so not sure if it will ask you to use the USB or if it will have to CAN the data in, but if it does use CAN, it may take a while to complete the PMI.

Took 3 hours when I had to use CAN on GWM last year just to update. Plus whatever extra time a PMI might take.

@Awj I see you tried that. You got an error that the hardware could not communicate with the VCM. Did you try restarting the laptop at any point between the attempts you made to PMI it?

It uses the USB.

When doing the GWM update it prompted for the USB and I loaded it in, and the Sync screen said it did the update successfully. Then in FDRS when you hit "yes" to let it know the update went successfully and it does its cleanup or whatever, FDRS crashed.

Somehow I was able to get the update to show up again in FDRS and tried the update again, and it crashed again.

I would message @Jesse-Infotainment with your VIN and what happened when you tried to update the GWM. Depending on the issue and what the fix entails, he made need to remote into your laptop using TeamViewer to address the issue. If that what needs to be done, rest assured that he is well trusted and known around here and has done this for COUNTLESS people including myself.

I just restarted the laptop and it seems to be getting further than it did before. The PMI still fails because of a DTC but at least it is communicating I guess

Did you try clearing codes with fdrs before attempting the PMI?

yeah the only DTC showing when I clear and re-run the self test is u-2100.

One of the steps in the PMI is to check DTCs and it fails with “E101”
