Replacement PCM 2021+

Due to the fact we need to send the PCM's into HP Tuners to have them unlocked on the 2021+ trucks...has anyone bought a spare PCM from a junkyard and swapped into their truck successfully? I'd like to to unlock a spare PCM to start tuning the truck while NA. I have already reached out to HP Tuners, and they are saying I can't flash the Whipple tune onto my truck if I unlock the PCM now.

Not sure if I'd have to do a PMI on a PCM that was in use in another vehicle? Thoughts?

PATS shouldn't be a problem for Forscan to overcome...but not sure if I'd have to do a PMI on a PCM that was in use in another vehicle? Thoughts?

I am not sure how HP Tunes work, but if you have a 2021, Livernois can tune it without you having to send the PCM in to them.

I believe you need special security access (PATS?) to program a new PCM to your truck, and not something you can just go out and get.
