Renegade Covers installed anyone?

Anyone out there have any experience with these Renegade toneau covers?

I was looking into getting a Diamondback HD cover for my new '21 Platinum, but I like the idea of the Renegade better.
Seems very beefy. Folding allowing for taller objects to fit in bed. It has an L-track orientation for various attachment points, weather resistant, etc.

I have tried to reach out to the company for more information without a lot of luck so far.


Any personal users out there?

Did you end up getting one? I was looking at the Diamondback, but I think I'd like the Renegade better. What do you think about it?

Can't see this being truly useful as I would never put a pallet load at the height of the bed rails and with the cover closed there is no way to tie to the bed cleats.

Having gear out of sight and protected from the weather are the benefits to adding and expensive tonneau cover to the truck.

I paid less for my Snugtop topper for my truck's 6.5 bed and it effectively doubles the amount of space in the bed for gear and also makes a truck great for transporting dogs.

The Renegade has L Tracks running along the sides and front and back. Many attaching devices utilize an L Track. You would not need the bed cleats for attaching purposes as you will use the fasteners for that L Track.

This is one of the best Trifold style covers out there right now IMO. However the company really does not go out of its way to be customer responsive. It seems to do the bare minimum to pass as a legitimate company. YMMV.

Did you ever find better info on the renegade? I can only find one 'honest' review on youtube, not positive... Everything else looks sponsored.
Looks like it could be a great product, but I don't want to drop 3k and wait 25 weeks to be disappointed.

I never did and eventually just went with an ARE Topper instead. I wanted desperately to find this and I even was willing to drive to a huge truck accessory expo in PA to see one, but they did not do shows. Their attitude was place an order, when it comes to you you can see it then.

Diamond Back had significantly better communication, but again nowhere to see it and I had some tech questions that I never could get an answer to. Finally, after a year of hunting and waiting to get better information, I gave up on both and just sprang for the topper.

Good luck if decide to go with the Renegade and perhaps they have improved since my experience. It looks like a wonderful cover, and I hope they give it a serious run.

Quite a few guys running diamondbacks out here, everyone seems happy, they're pretty solid. I'm willing to pay a few hundred more for the look and fold-ability of the renegade, just don't want to be a real world guinea pig at that wait and cost.
Maybe I'll give them a call, hopefully under new ownership.

Try to contact them. When I was last searching they were in the process of getting a new shop and warehouse so they could cut down on the delivery time. Whether that materialized or not, I do not know.

The sponsored youtube vids and two real reviews were all I was able to find too. At the time I chalked it up to the covid era and that was why things were not moving forward with this company, but that should not be the case now. They may just be happy being very small but someone should have them somewhere.

It really is a great design and it looks like a wonderful cover. I wish it was promoted more as I like it far more than the Diamond Back. The semi tri fold gives a lot of flexibility. Let us know if you take the plunge go the guinea pig route.
