True...but with the 10R80, the last two numbers are it's torque rating in Newton Meters.

80 = 800nm.....which equals 590ftlb of torque.
10R80 in the Aviator hybrid has to hold 630 lb ft…..so I’d say it is probably rated for at least that.

I may be wrong but, it would be sheer insanity for Ford to install a transmission that the maximum torque rating is only a measly 20 lbs-ft higher than the total rated for the truck. Just running a tank of super unleaded would potentially put the combined total output at about 590 lbs-ft in certain running conditions. If it's maximum torque handling capability were that close It'd be like Icarus and we'd certainly see a lot more powerboost's with burned up transmissions as a result.

I think the crazy next step would be a twin turbo Coyote on a 10R8MHT.

Well. I didn't make it up.... that's how the Ford transmission is rated.
The 10R110 is 1100nm, which is 811 ftlb of torque.

....and the Powerboost is around 490ftlb at the wheels, which is far under what the transmission is rated for.

Most likely that 630lb ft is at the crank, so it's probably like 540lbft at the wheels, so it's still within stock rating.

And it's not producing that level of hp/torque 100% of the time. Only when you floor it and even then it likely would only be for a few seconds.
