Recommendation for Dash Cam?

2023 f150 302 High package. Im looking for a Ford recommended dash cam. I have accumulated almost 65,000 ford points and want to use them for this. I dont want wires hanging down or have to mickey mouse the installation. Can someone recommend the proper set up. I like the idea of front and rear, but what i am seeing is the rear has to be mounted out side of the rear window so I'm not to keen on having to drill a hole in the cab for its wiring. Am I misunderstanding the set up. The local Ford Dealer would install for $250 plus tax but I'm no flunky and can do it myself...................I hope.

This is the unit I installed about 2 months ago. It only records while the truck is running, and you have accessible history with a mobile app. When you start the truck it says "start recording".

I have a Rove dash cam that records front, cabin and has a separate rear camera that mounts on my sliding rear window. I ran all of the wires tucked under molding for both front and rear cameras using the plastic tool include. No need to drill any holes and total installation took less than an hour. I highly recommend this company. Support is US based and customer service through the ap is great. I use the suction cup mount so I can transfer to my wife’s car when needed. DO NOT PAY FOR INSTALLATION!

VANTRUE E2 is what I use paired with a DONGAR Rearview mirror power adapter. It has front and rear cameras, is DIY installable, and takes less than 10 minutes. Amazon usually has a sale on this brand, so keep an eye out.

I used the setup method above. Runner is correct it only takes a few minutes to install. I like the VIOFO cam as the software is easy to pull the videos you might need. I had a Ford brand cam that it a thinkware cam. It was a giant pain to pull the videos. The VIOFO is much better.

I ordered the kit to hardwire it so it will record 24/7. Otherwise I’d do that. I have a mirror tap for my V1.

I’ve been running a VIOFO a229 pro and have been very happy with it.

i did have to get the GPS chip replaced under warranty but other than that it’s been rock solid

Viofo A229 duo for me. 2k resolution on both front and rear cams. Tuck the wires behind the trims including the roof trim and hardwire to constant and acc fuses. If I can do the install in the dead of the Canadian winter then anyone can!
