Rear seat lift without using LMI kit?

I’m wondering if anyone has done a small seat lift vs. the LMI 2.5 or 3.5 inch ones? Looking at the bolts the seats are mounted to there’s more than enough thread to add 1/2 to 5/8” of lift and still have full thread engagement on the nuts.

I have the pano roof so doing a 2.5” lift would mean my rear seat passengers would need to slouch down. I’m doing a custom underseat sub box and could use just a tiny bit more airspace in my box dimensions.

Not looking for people to tell me what to do, just want to know if this idea has been tried. I can find 1/4” steel spacers easily enough…

Me , personally wouldn't alter seat lift too much as I love audio (I sell it for a living) but rear comfort for passengers would supersede raising to where the rear passengers don't feel too imposed. Can you build it without raising the seat? Aka, use smaller subs?

That’s why I’m only looking to add 1/2” lift and not the 2.5 the LMI kit has. Still room for taller passengers but gives me more airspace to work with.

Yea, I don't see how people do 2.5", yikes, Im 6'2" and I wouldn't ride in the back seat! LOL

It’s not bad if you have a standard roof. The pano roof eats about 3.5” of headspace.

I wouldn't think twice about it and just do this.
