2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
I haven't got the truck yet but I do have the window sticker and the payload as per Ford's towing calculator on the, my vehicle dashboard, portion of website.

2023 Powerboost, 501a. 4x4, short bed, 7.2KW, NAV, cameras = 1658.

Don't forget that you are part of that payload along with whatever stuff you may put in the truck including passengers...

There are two options for increasing the payload of your truck. One is something like the SuperSprings add-ons. Second is to replace the passenger tires with E-rated ones (although your ride will suffer). Supersprings shows the SSA28 for the F-150 but safest to phone them and confirm.

The stock Hankook tires on my 2022 F-150 are load rated for 2679@35 PSI. Not difficult to find LT tires like the Toyo Open Country that are rated for 3750@80 PSI. That would be an increase in payload of 2,142 lbs at the rear axle. Then the limitation is the load capacity of the axle on the truck and the leaf springs.

The Max Payload is not going to have a different rear axle and so going to its load capacity is not going to result in its failing. For the 2023 trucks the max payload no longer appears to be available when one does an actual truck build online.

The payload capacity for the 2WD 8 ft bed trucks is 3,325 lbs and so the load limitations are with the 4WD drivetrain and its weight and not the load capacity of the rear axle.

If you are referring to the Heavy Duty Payload Package, it does get a different axle in the 3/4 float design, putting axial forces into the axle tube. Max Tow is a required package for HDPP. It is only available on XL now.

...with HDPP and the stronger rear axle, otherwise 2350 lbs.

There is no official way of increasing payload once the truck is built, unless you can get an outfitter to recertify your truck, after you make changes.

And "sprung weight" matters not all, since Ford defines payload as GVWR - curb weight.
