How does this work?
Nobody really knows.

"Parts shortages", "chip shortages" "Priority Codes", Color, Options, Dealership... all seem to have absolutely NOTHING to do with when and "if" your truck gets built.

But... just in case, I'd like to take this opportunity to say how amazing all of the wonderful people at Ford are and what great products they all work so very hard to produce!

And... FORD is AWESOME!

Good question. Wish we had someone on the forum that actually knows. Lots of opinions and attempted humor, but few facts.
During my career, I worked for two major car producers, and the contrast in production styles was surprising. GM primarily built cars to order, so on a walk down the production line you would see all models and colors and styles represented. Honda built to stock dealers, not to orders, so they built in lots of 60 cars, same model, color, style, and options. This allowed them to use the 'just in time' method of controlling incoming components.
Wonder what Ford is planning as they transition to online customer ordering?
