I had a Line-X spray in liner the week i got my truck (2023 Atlas Blue Lariat) and a week later the whole thing started to bubble. Called the installer and he has to remove the whole thing and respray it. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Wow!! Def very poor prep work of the truck, which is the most important part of the process to ensure proper adhesion. As it dried an degassed, it lifted causing the bubbles. The shear number of spots is concerning on the workmanship of the person who prepped that. Rule of thumb, is the supervisor should always check prep work prior to spray to eleviate this from ever happening. In the long run costing you more money, time, and it wont be a pretty site when they remove it. They can get it to look good as new if done properly. I would def be there to ensure they completely removed it. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Judging by the amount of bubbles, and the obvious lack of prep work, perhaps the whole liner will peel off in one piece, which would be so satisfying to do, sort of like peeling the dead skin off after getting a sunburn. Joking aside, as others have suggested, I would be there to inspect it after they removed all of the existing bedliner.

Your installer drove your truck through Chernobyl and said, "Done!"

Don't they scuff up the factory paint pretty bad to give the spray something to adhere to anyway? 80 grit and power sand it till your factory paint is trash.

It's not costing me anymore money, that's on them. Its just an inconvenience at this point. I'm good as long as they make it right.

Just to note the install shop (very reputable and well reviewed) was mortified and said they would do anything necessary to make it right. I am just curious if anyone else has see this and what I should be looking for.

It might not be a bad prep job but a problem with the chemicals or machine that sprays it on the truck...

I heard that from another guy who has experience in the industry. If that's the case they can backcharge the manufacturer

That’s insane. I’m sure someone else has or will mention it but that looks like something wasn’t done in preparation for the product being laid down. I had an issue with areas of the Linex being extremely thin in some areas and thicker in others. I mean hairline thin and yes that entire job has to be torn out and redone. What a bunch of lazy ass bs. These clowns charge silly amounts of money and cant even do the jobs correctly.

If it wasn't a prep issue, it could have been a bad ratio of the feed materials or a temperature problem. I find it unlikely that the entire bed could have been prepped wrong, but Anthony is possible. As long as the shop is taking care of it, no big deal minus lost time.

The truck is back with them now. This is what they said. The ratio was wrong and they take full resposibility. They are working on it today should be back Thursday.

Check your bed bolts to ensure they are tight and secure since this will be the second time removing them.
