I am sure I have an older version of the app, but how can you tell? Where is the app version posted on the app? I might be being lame, but I cannot find it.

As for PPOB being fully functional from the app. Even if it once did, I'd bet the layers got wind of that and killed it.

I would not expect to see it return. Monitoring is better than nothing and at the moment, it is free. As I understand it, other manufacturers change for their apps.
I think we are just waiting for the return of FordPass Bluetooth dependent functions for the F150. Ford has returned them in V5 for the Mach-E. (visible in the comparison screenshots of my FordPass below)

Note how on the previous platform (V4) FordPass did have enhanced functions for the F150 when using a Bluetooth connection. (old screenshot below) Of course V4 was laid out completely different and Ford didn't nest all the "Bluetooth Controls" together like they have in V5

I came along at just the right (wrong?) time I guess and if I had functionality, or even monitoring of PPOB on the app. I never knew it. Too new to it.

I did watch trailer light check disappear and then thankfully come back and a couple other changes in the app.

I almost never use remote start, either by app or fob but I do have a new appreciation for the secure pad. Used it probably a couple times per day on a recent trip.

Now I get why people are pissed about the change to that.

@Davexxxx and @SaCho - Thanks for showing me! I am still on 5.19 so I need to hope it updates for my PB. I need that feature! :)

Just downloaded a few minutes ago.

Sure enough!
It's not nearly as fancy, but it does serve the main purpose of providing confirmation that the generator mode is activated and how many watts it's providing. Saweeeeet

I would assume it was because they were studying how to monetize each function separately.
Like Ford Base is $5/month and gets you remote start

Ford Gold at $10/mo gets you Base plus ability to see you subscription level.

Ford All Access is $20/mo and gets you remote lighting, Pro power, et al.

Add the trailer option for $5/mo to access trailer lighting.
I'll disconnect the cell antennas the second ford starts charging me to pay for them to collect telemetry. Bad move on their part if they even consider it. Ford is paying $1-2/mo for access to my telemetry. Zero chance I'm going to accept anything less than free. When the cost is free, you are the product. When you drive a GM, you're still the product and you pay.

May have found a bug on FP 5.22.0 today. Had my oil changed this morning, and they reset oil life to 100%. FP is still showing 14%, which it was when I took it in this morning. I refreshed the app a couple of times but no change. Time will tell if it changes or is a bug in the software. It had been following the truck until now.
Same experience with FP and oil life after recent oil change

That actually has personal meaning.
I had a 2004 KingRanch F350 and was the longest ownership truck I ever had. A decade. It was magnificent.
I later acquired a 2018 KingRanch F150. It too was magnificent and I poured a ridiculous amount of discretionary income at modifications, intending to keep it a decade as well.

Pure foolishness!

Ford released the 2021 Powerboost and I IMPULSE swapped my KingRanch for a Platinum Powerboost that was in inventory.

I liked it enough to KNOW that a Powerboost was a keeper. But the Platinum motif just never...... Well, I just wasn't smitten. A bit too Executive.

So I special ordered the KingRanch Powerboost and the Covid delays led to a fair wait, if you know what I mean.
When it arrived, and I hit FordPass for the first time, my brain called it TheKingIsBack ?

The Mach-E, nearly 3 years later, was another impulse purchase initiated on a Friday evening by my granddaughter. She is my best friend in the whole world and happened to be with me when I dropped by the dealership on the way to a 3 day beach weekend.

She wandered off and I found her on the showroom floor sitting in the driver's seat of a Mach-E GTPE.

"Pawpaw, you should get this. It's really cool"

We arrived at the B&B Beach house late for dinner. ???

So far Ford has been wise enough NOT to take the bait that GM couldn't resist.

Also note that GM is lobbying in the background against Ford licensing LFP battery tech. (CATL) Meanwhile GM sells their soul (IP) to SAIC. ?

I'm not a GM fan, but I am pro-GM success as a citizen. Their future breaks my heart. How will they ever get back ownership of their own products?

(not intended as a political comment. Rather, a hopeless automotive enthusiast's love of American automotive history)

Very nice story. Thank you for sharing. Although my wife and I have not yet been blessed with children, we've had the pleasure of stray cats in need finding and adopting us as parents. This is my best friend, Meeko...

I always felt that companies should pay us for our data. It's our data. They should compensate us in some way for using it to their commercial advantage.

hey i left the outlets to the ON position last night
not sure if its a fluke
but i checked ford pass while waiting for the CT scan and it showed they were LIVE at outlets with zero amp draw?

so i ASSUME```` they stay at last setting
will check again later

(laughs in ai overlord voice)

Google trained their latest vid model on pretty much everything on youtube. The result is people prompting this stuff into complete vid/audio clips. Im sure disney is thrilled. You can't prompt for a 'storm trooper' but you can sure describe what they look like and the model fills in the rest.

I imagine that since the current FordPass PPOB "object" is the most basic cloud based value harvest report, it can only reflect the last state reported.

So unless the truck is "awake" and thus overwriting the last state/record, FordPass can't reflect a different state?

One more reason why the triangular method of reporting is inferior, in my opinion. (App asks query of cloud. Cloud asks truck. Truck replies to cloud. Cloud informs app)
Where a direct point<>point relationship between vehicle and app (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) would not only be instantaneous (fresh), but can have a high enough refresh rate to afford "live" reporting, as well as controls. (command/response)

Can you imagine how bad an app like Forscan or OBDLink would perform if it required an intermediary like a cloud?

By the way, on the Powerboost ProPower, even if you unplug a device from the receptacle in the bed, if the plug cover isn't closed, there is a sensor that lets PPOB logic know, and Sync4 will prompt for whether you intend to enable the generator when you start the truck the next time.
I get this often because I have a weathertech bed liner that reaches up the sidewall enough to prevent the receptacle cover from closing properly. So in theory, it will be interesting to see what the truck reports to the cloud regarding the last "state". On or Off? ??
