Priority Code

I've seen other posts on this forum asking about priority code and some saying you should get a lower priority code.

I just checked my order that was submitted on 5/15 and noticed that from the paperwork it has the default priority code of 19.

Would it be worth it to have my salesman cancel that and resubmit with a higher priority code? Would that make a difference?

Might- from my understanding Ford isn’t scheduling any new builds this coming week. They had a bulletin (per Blue Oval) out that this week’s scheduling was for build weeks of July 12 but that was followed up not long after with another bulletin saying no scheduling would happen this week.

You are looking at week of July 12 best case scenario but the longer these shutdowns go on, the more likely that gets pushed farther out.

They can change the priority code on the order. However, after the truck has been scheduled, it no longer plays a role in production.

Currently Priority Codes don't seem to have much of an effect. Normally a PC of 10 would most likely get built before a 19 especially if there were plenty of parts to go around like in a normal model year of production but this hasn't been a normal year. My PC was 10 when I ordered beginning of November then changed by Ford to 2 a few weeks later. My truck was built May 2 so ya definitely not a normal year of production.

I thought I heard that number only actually meant prioritization within that dealer’s own orders as well, not of all orders going to Ford.

I have two exact same build because dealer submitted order twice. Ordered same day. Both order number 19. VINs are bascially sequential. Both orders were placed 03/01

Mine arrived a week ago (05/17 because it had a blend date of 05/01)
The other one now has a ETA of 08/23 despite having blend date of 04/30.

So it is defnitely not the order priority code. Ford is focusing May blend orders probably
