Powertrain or a 4x4 drive fault

Just got back from the dealer replacing my GSM. They had an issue with programming via the TRON network, said my battery was low. They replaced the battery (after charging for 45 minutes) and were able to successfully program the GSM. So far so good. No issues, but I've only put about 8 miles on it since they swapped it out. I'll know more in a week or two. No charge for any of it since it's all covered by warranty.

I've gotten this message on my 2021 a few times, but more frequently now...Do you happen to have the GSM part number on your paperwork? I am out of warranty so starting to fear what this might cost me to repair/correct...

I never get any codes when this happens to me, just the 4x4 system fault and the orange wrench icon. When I plug in with my scan tool, there is never any codes...

The part number on my ticket is RL3Z-7210-AD. There is no price listed as it was warranty work. Tasca parts price is $417.01. Fairway Ford is $415.14. Hope you can find it cheaper. Or you might do the rotary shift knob swap and eliminate it altogether.

Also, mine has been moved to the TRON network so without FDRS, it can't be programmed properly. Yours being a 2021 model, you may be able to do yours. It only took the dealer about an hour and a half to swap it and program it though so labor may not be too bad.

Well shoot... RL3Z-7210-AD shows as not compatible with my 2021...
Ford Parts calls that 'Gear Shift Lever'

Searching under my VIN for 'Gear Shift Lever' I get ML3Z7210AL...

I'll have to try connecting with FORScan and see if I get any codes through that...so dumb, but thanks for the reply!
