"DRIVE MODES NOT AVAILABLE" and/or "4x4 LOCKED"

The last 2 weeks i've been getting intermitent warnings saying "drive modes not available" and "4x4 locked"
it wont change drive modes or go into or out of 4x4, even though the 4x4 light is active.
I put it into park, and cycle the "key" off and back on again... and things seem to work again.

anyone else have this issue?

it hasnt happened since that time, and that was the only time it happened.
If it happens again, i will dig deeper.

Ok thanks for the reply, mine started out randomly and now it every other time I drive it
