thanks! appreciate any insights you can help with. if i hear anything back from my dealership will let you know also.
Got a call from my dealer today (exactly one week after dropping it off). They said they needed my second key to reprogram it to the truck after replacing the PCM (powertrain control module). Said I could likely pick it up tomorrow. Fingers crossed that was the correct fix! Will report back.

The dealer wound up keeping my truck for another week and replaced a wiring harness and a pin connector as well. I’ve driven it maybe 5 times since getting it back on Wednesday last week and haven’t had any problems.

I'm having the same issue where my Powerboost won't shift to electric and the service engine light came on. New truck, 4 months and 3,600 miles. After 4 days the dealership called and said I need a new battery isolator but it is on backorder until December and they won't have any loaners until November 16th! I can't go without a car for more than a month. I asked if it will hurt the truck to drive it until they get the part...they said we don't recommend but can't tell you what to do. Does anyone know if it will cause more issues or just run like a normal truck without switching to electric? Any impact on the warranty?

i drove my truck when this happened for 18 miles to the dealership and haven’t had it since which was about 3 weeks ago now. they told me they should just keep it until the part comes in. that is awful they don’t have a loaner for you. Ford really needs to do something for the owners of new vehicles that are waiting on parts a long time due to the parts constraints. i bought the extended service plan which gives me 10 days of rental and then after that Ford corporate has to approve more days. so they approved our first extension so hoping for more extensions since it seems it may be some time to get the aux battery isolator.

I do have a quick question. Has anybody dealt with an issue/repair that has gone longer than a month? I am thinking to reach out to Ford Corporate on this to see what they can do for me. Paying the monthly payment for something that you can’t drive is unacceptable. Want to see if anybody has any insights on this.

Some neighbors have asked where my truck is and they can't believe it when I tell them. It can't be good for their brand if they are doing this to a lot of people. I wonder if we would get action if we put the story on Facebook, Twitter, Insta...or do they just not care anymore?

quick update on my aux battery isolator. so the dealership let me know the manufacturer is making approximately 250 of them and will be in the shippers hands on october 20th. the dealership has been calling to make sure with Ford parts my truck is at the top of the list to get one. so hopefully if you are waiting on one that it comes in for you. maybe this is a bigger issue than we think? anyhow, my truck has been at the dealership now 30 days and hoping the part arrives this week and they can install it.

Hello, Nick! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this Powertrain Malfunction concern. Thanks!

Hello, My truck Gives me "Powertrain/Reduced Power" I have seen this frequently. However when I start my truck the next day the check engine light is out. And all is well until a few days get similar warnings again.
Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills is aware of this problem. However they say the light must be on when I bring the truck in.
Hard to do when truck "fixes" its self.
Any ideas appreciated.

I had taken mine into service even though the codes were not showing. I dropped off and they were able to recreate what was happening based on what i saw on my receipt. I saw on my Ford Pass App that it threw the codes when they did that. I think they should be able to go back in and see when it threw codes also. There has to be some sort of history captured. I think though they should be able to recreate it for you if it is the Aux Battery Isolator that is causing it.

I have the same problem and am sick of it. Have seen on other forums it could be from a stuck waste gate(?), wiring, etc. etc. is there a way to contact Ford? The local dealership has been of no use. Thanks

I’ve been considering trading up to a 2023 “X-cab” with Powerboost” just to check it out.

12” screen, center console shifter, etc… a LOT of options that weren’t available on my RCSB 5.0

But between all the weird issues I’m seeing with the PB and the 12” screen… plus, every time I have to park my RCSB in a crowded parking lot.

AND the insane Mustangesque acceleration of my tiny little overpowered F150… I think I’ll stick with what I have
.

DAMN this thing is FUN!

I received the Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power Alert Monday 12/5(22 PB Plat 9500 miles). I was lucky, and successfully drove it to the dealer on Tuesday.

I did not get a comfortable feeling based on the dealers response.

don’t worry too much. i did the same when mine threw the same error. mine was the aux battery isolator and only after 578 miles on mine. the tough part is the wait for the part. mine took a month but maybe they have the part now and it’s not constrained. also if that is the problem make sure they change out the 12v battery

I will keep my fingers crossed hoping it's that simple.
